If you could start your own business what would that business do?

I would start a hydroponics and aquaculture farm.

And maybe a tech innovation firm where we develop robots and airships. icon_biggrin.gif

Films, Production, TV/Shows. I've done work on film, tv and commercials on and off a bit. I also had some great ideas, scripts for feature length movies and tv shows. But the thing is, it's such a hit or miss business in the arts, movies.

The other area I want to go into is the Fashion/men/Underwear industry. What can I say, I love cute undies and hot guys in it. Even better if they're wearing the undies I design. icon_biggrin.gif But I mean how am I going to compete with CK or Andrew Christian?

Start up cost: I estimated for these 2 *areas: $2 mil (Yeah I picked the 2 hardest industries to break into, the 3rd one is the music industry) icon_redface.gif

I would get into the fashion industry as well. Mostly because I have issues with the size of clothes. I don't like shirts to be too long.

Aquaculture and hydroponics is a smart idea.

I had a partnership in a gym and I loved the business because members constantly told me how much they appreciated us. The money was good too. I had to sell out because of a move from the area. I will gladly get back into the fitness business again.

Some type of business that's low hassle, practically hands-off, but generates enough income for me to travel around the world.

Something in the cross-country ski business; that's what I did till I retired, and I miss it!

One dream is to own and design the perfect ski getaway resort, and keep prices affordable.

    Dream, dream....

I started a successful business with my ex. Retail stores. Eventually we had three of them. They still exist, I think. I sold him my interest when we broke up and I moved to Floriduh.

Unfortunately, not enough people are interested in such things, so I would have barely any customers!
What? Tourists go bananas for that over here. If TMZ can start up their own tours, anyone can. icon_biggrin.gif

The thing is, I am fascinated by movies made in the 20s and 30s. You get to see so much of LA as it was in those movies when they went out on location. But we're talking about stuff that was made 80 or 90 years ago. But maybe if I "sprinkled in" some newer movies too, that would be a good "hook" to get the customers coming in!
20s and 30s.. I'm sure there's a market for that. You just need targeted marketing to attract the right customers. LA and Hollywood is rich in history, both inside and outside the movie industry. I say, do it! icon_cool.gif

That's such a niche Tour market for movies in the 20s, 30s. The last time I was in Hollywood, they have this red bus tour or something that tour the locations of Charlie Angels shooting locations. (Around Griffith Observatory and Hollywood Hills). I think the closet I ever saw a movie location shot was the apt complex where they shot *Pretty Woman at the end when Richard Gere climbed up to Julia Roberts. (Oh and the Beverly Regent Wilshire Hotel and Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills. Famous setting for various movies.) They should do a gay tour of Los Angeles for gay tourists, I think that's a great idea.

Oh please. You all know that if you could start ANY business, it would be a tropical gay brothel/resort, where both the exclusive clients and employees are stunningly hot, on a tax-free tropical island. The only problem in the business plan is who pays for it all. Maybe a tax-reverse tropical island?

(I already have two mundane businesses. Anybody can start a business.)

A gay brothel? So you want to be a gay Pimp? Lol, your answer remind me of an episode in South Park where Butters was the biggest Pimp. You can open a gay brothel in Nevada tax-free (I think).

    or that.

either a weed spot or a gay brothel. i really don't care though as long as it makes money and nobody gets hurt. i just want the money.
