How often do you find yourself popping off in public?

No, this isn't about how you jerk off in the bathroom at work.

But do you ever come across people that just be wanting to start stuff with you for no reason? I'm not talking about a big fight, but just little nit-picky comments and tones of voice. Alot of times, it's not even required for them to say it, but they do it...I let it slide, and then later on I realize I should have gone off on them.

In the past 7 days, I've had the following:

guy at the library. I sit down at a reading booth that's completely empty and open my laptop and set my things down. He going to ask me to move, because he was trying to hold the spot for someone, but when I moved, I didn't see a single person connect their computer to that spot.. But he looked like a bum, and if I put my hands on trash, that would make me trash. Plus he stunk and I told him to take a bath anyway.

banker at the bank: asked her to waive 1 fee (was in a location where there were no branches and an EFT went thru, got me 2 fees), and I get a lecture about my account and asked what's my credit like, as if it's her fucking business. I'm not asking for a loan. She was being all condescending to me, when I've been with the bank for months and never bounced a check.

guy at gym I am walking AWAY from the rope machine. He going to jump in front of me, "are you done using the rope!?" All loud and shit through my acoustic headphones. I wanted to say, "do you still see me using it?" One guy a few months ago even had the nerve to tell me to get off the lat machine and rest on an office chair.

If it makes any difference, all these people were White. And I'm usually the only Black person there, so I guess they feel they can get away with it. Now, I'm not trying to make it a race statement, but the times I've found myself putting people in their place, are more than not the other race. I don't know if they think they can talk to me any kind of way, but they need to learn differently.

What do you do if and when you encounter situations like this?

Almost never in real life. I've had more fights on this site than I've had my entire life in the real world. Tone is often impossible to detect in type and not everyone gets my dry humor online. Plus, this site if full of hypersensitive little girls. icon_biggrin.gif

LOL. I've had similar experience, but the people behind the counter were usually black or Latino. So yes. It's a race thing.

tortoise_sex saidi'm beyond that shit. icon_lol.gif i've had a few people that have tried to start shit with me BUT i've been smart enough to deflect it. i don't really pay them any mind and people just leave me alone. i'm a paranoid guy as it is but i don't go around starting fights with people.

op, you just seem to be a bit off or you really pick fights with people who aren't your size. just because you start fights or talk back to people DOESN'T make you tough. put it like this, if people respect you or fear you, they're not going to come at you looking for a fight.

It's not a fight though. It's just them saying things in a tone that they shouldn't be saying stuff in. They be the ones trying to start stuff, not me.

When I sat down at the library desk last week, that guy came up to me and asked me to move. That was just totally uncalled for. That booth was completely empty. If the person wasn't already sitting there with their stuff, they can't go reserving booths. Like I said, I wasn't going to fight with him because it wasn't going to end well. I would have distracted everyone else in the library, because of his bullshit.

I have internet at home, but I was out of town at the time and needed to use my laptop

If your state allows it, you might want to consider medical marijuana icon_smile.gif .... stay away from booze and cut back on the caffine

however, for the most part, nowadays folks just leave me alone for the most part. then again, i don't go outside the house much as i don't really have a reason to. icon_lol.gif

Sometimes, even staying indoors doesn't help! I've had 3 neighbors piss me off, one next door that I actually verbally confronted on 2 occasions, using profanity the 2nd time. They left a big, smelly bag of diapers on our joining front porch in the middle of summer. TWICE. They finally learn to stay out my way, and I learned to not even say hello either. My other neighbor is too damn nosey, and I almost went off on him when he gossipped about my neighbor that he has never even spoken to, getting arrested, that live directly below me. I'm like dude, how the fuck is that your business? I don't want to hear that shit.

But, all the other stuff, I agree with you on. But, there's also a danger that lies in just being quiet and letting it build up over time. To where you just can't take it anymore and it all comes out. I don't want that either. I want a mid-ground.

not really I'm to blunt with people which leaves them on the back foot.

Although I went balls to the wall abusive at my neighbour the other day for leaving his car in the driveway so i couldn't get out (along with all the other shit he does)

I'm happy to say he refuses to even make eye contact now, he's completely silent and I've been pretty happy icon_smile.gif

first time in years I've lost my temper at someone.

Yup. None of those things you mention seem worth losing your cool over. You seem to have some anger issues.

For me, there's no fun or sport in engaging someone online and I've long suspected that most that do are compensating for what they're unwilling or unable to do in real life.

But offline on Long Island it seems that everyone's looking for a fight. The bad gym behavior that everyone complains about is alive and well outside as well. That can wear a person down and I was no exception; the cumulative effects began getting to me and I began fighting back with commensurate force; for every action, there was an equal and similar if not stronger reaction. I was able to shut my anger down once I acknowledged that life's not fair and I realized that almost everyone's a selfish, self-important, self-involved, unevolved asshole. Once your faith in humanity's dashed it's easier to pick your battles.

Oh I can only imagine that people in New York be on that for real. I've dated and had friends with New Yorkers and they NEVER let anyone off the hook. Y'all think I have anger issues? I haven't even done it yet. I'll never forget my X from the Bronx went off on the Walgreens cashier years ago after she said something discriminating about his body piercings. That White bitch just stood there looking stupid. I was so embarrassed to be with him, but nowadays, I would have been smiling and laughing at that ho while he drove that ho crazy.

I have already understood life can be unfair, unpredictable, and you have to be ready at any time for unforeseen circumstances. That I already learned when I was growing up in high school. I went thru it, honey. So I know.

How bout just deal with ur little, unimportant life issues urself and stop gettin your panties in a bunch about little things in life.

Oh the bank didn't waive a fee for u? why the fuck should they? Why should you be exempt from that rule? U fucked something up, obviously. You got a fee. Deal with it. Evereyone else would get the same fee, u aint special.

Someone asked u if u were done with a rope machine? So what! Just say "yeah" and keep it movin, bitch. Why u mad for?

oh and boo hoo!! a guy at the library was talking to some friends and your stupid ass gets annoyed. Go say something to the guy. Say something to the front desk at the library...

    icon_rolleyes.gif
Always complaining. Do u have a fucking vagina? because it sounds like you do. it's no wonder u can't seem hold down a steady relationship. you're an annoying, whiney, angry, bitch made fuckface. waaaah. waaaah waaah. Cry for me baby! Cry. lemme see u get mad and cry, bitch.

LOL...you say all that now, but guarantee if we were face to face you'd be picking up your teeth off the floor.

Obviously you're the one whining like a little bitch trying to bring a little attention to yourself by coming at me like you're doing. Obviously no one is laughing with you, you just make yourself look like the insecure little boy you are who is too afraid to take a picture with his shirt off, and rather come on RJ and try to pick a fight and criticize someone with a better body than you, to vent your frustrations on the fact that you live in San Diego and can't pull like I'd be able to pull.

So yeah, all that bullshit you're talking makes you look like an idiot. Go back to your mediocre cubicle job and go beat off to your amateur porn because you have nothing better to do with your life, than trying to come and make someone else feel bad about themselves...which makes you no better than me. You 30 years old...and probably older, arguing with someone 4 years younger. Is that how you get your rocks off? Shame, shame, shame.

Do you even have anything to look at under the corporate suit and tie look you're trying to rock? Probably not. You're probably skinny-fat, bad body, and have a little pooch below the navel. Something no one in San Diego wants to look at, but you feel a need to take it out on me. Insecurity and jealously is a terrible thing.

And for the record, Import...I just copy/pasted your entire post to me reported it.

You can disagree with me, but you're not going to get off calling me whatever you want to call me just because you on the internet and don't like what I have to say. I may not be able to put my foot on your throat and make you cough out your adam's apple because you're too far away, but I will make it known you're not going to step out of bounds with me. You're going to stay in your place, or I can beat you to death in your place.

Everyone has different experiences. I only have bad experiences in diversely mixed gyms and haven't had too many problems with white guys. Usually the upscale gyms where you pay more have less problems overall. Ghetto, bario gyms I tend to avoid.

Well, to be clear...I don't normally have issues at the gym anyway. My gym isn't LA fitness upscale, but it's a large chain similiar to 24 hour with less people. So usually, it's not an issue.

Umm dude none of that sounds big enough to even raise your voice at.. haha

Buuut I get it still! You obviously have a Lot going on and you don't need even the smallest of things setting you off.. everything is just building up as you said. But, that's life, just know these people are likely not trying to upset a big guy like yourself and they have no idea what you are going through. They likely will not even see or speak to you again naturally

Bonus though.. from your pics you are Hot! icon_lol.gif

I never raised my voice though! I didn't say anything about raising my voice. I just said I didn't like their tone, and yes...if someone is going to make me get up and move my things...they asking for trouble. Anybody else would have responded way worse.

but thanks otherwise for the comments.

My friend is such an inspiration with confrontations. I've seen her verbally obliterate the cockiest of motherfuckers before they even know what's up, it's hilarious. Sometimes she comes off as too vicious but then again everyone knows better than to go for her.

So you agree with me, that the stuff I'm talking about isn't just petty. It's everyday life and some people either step up, or step back. All this bullcrap about not being a big deal, is a big deal.
