A Tale Of Two Gyms: At War With Crossit

I tend to do my own thing at the gym and socialize with people in the weight room and elsewhere around the club. I finally ventured into Crossfit and tried it a few times - nice eye candy in there. I had fun and the crowd is cool. Now some of my weight room buddies are critical, telling me I've been indoctrinated into the cult because I blathered on a few times with Crossfit lingo.

THEN the other day I'm in Crossfit and my new friends tell me I should abandon the weight room because it's filled with "philistine airheads" who don't understand proper physical fitness.

THEN today I overheard some dudes in the locker room talking shit about Crossfit! saying it's for "fitness snobs, pretentious wannabes, and sissy boys with names like Tyler and Todd and Brent."

My gym is turning into a tale of two cities! Can't we all just get along? Anyone see this happening at their gym?

Just people talking shit about those "others" who aren't working out like they do, be it the "cultist cross fitters" or the "gym bunnies" each dissing the other.

LOL. Just ignore the noise and do your thing. If it's really bothering you that much, try to be diplomatic to both sides and maybe smash some stereotypes.

Such disputes should be settled on the mat. And filmed.

Great story. Thankfully, much more concise than the original.

Further evidence that people just want something to argue about.
