For a first date would you rather have a planned first date or something more spontaneous?

Planned for sure. I like to keep it old school with dinner, conversation, a movie, and end it with a walk in the park. At the end of the night if things click I ask if a kiss is okay. So far nobody has declined, and if they did I would bite them on the neck like a vampire and jump out the car window and they'd never hear from me again.

    Dates are easy.

I like looking forward to going to a place already pre-arranged that I like (be it a restaurant or somewhere else..) but I also like the idea of a spontaneous evening and some of the best evenings I have had were ones where I've just met up with my guy somewhere and then take it from there.

Depends really on the person though, some guys I've dated really don't like being with someone indecisive or just going with the flow.

Planned, I don't know him well enough to do spontaneous stuff yet when the spontaneity involves skinny dipping or doing any sexual activity on a 1st date, NO NO. I said NO to the last guy because he spontaneously wanted to catch a **Midnight movie for 2 hrs, I was like hell no, I'm tired dude.

Something planned with the possibility of spontaneous extension if things are going well. Like dinner with the option of going for a walk in a nearby park or drinks you're hitting thinks off.

I plan everything out. And b/c of my planning, most of my past bf's will testify that I gave them the best dates of their lives.

yeah, you want to watch a gay man implode, just try and be spontaneous.
Unless you're taking him to Paris for lunch by way of your Phenom 300, then fo-get-about-it.

Plan something- meet for coffee, dinner, an exhibit, go for a hike-- and leave things open if the date is going well.

And you also give yourself an out to leave early in case the first date is really bad.
