What in the world is the matter with being "Scrawny."

It seems that in the Gay Community that everyone is so stuck on Muscles and not only that, but hardly anyone is afraid to say anything that might be perceived as weak or fem.

I have been a little scrawny shit, all of my life, and no I never stuck with lifting weights, and I am perfectly happy with myself. I have always viewed my body as kind of a child like one. Maybe this is my hidden skeleton, and what makes me odd, but why I am shunned for it, is beyond me.

Now that I am 52, my little frame is getting some belly fat, and that is not the best looking thing. If I try getting encounters, I have some success, but not much.

The way I see it, most of the Gay Community, but "Not All" are rather a harsh bunch. There seems to be a lack of sincerity and accountability among many, and this lack of positive characteristics makes me want to stay away, and not to get involved with many.

Are you sure it is they gay community and not just the culture of society. However, you shouldn't let that keep you from whom ever it is that you want to be.

Men are visual, although each of us has a different opinion of what looks good, depending on what we find attractive.

Good point! It is, indeed, a problem with society. All anyone has to do, is watch TV, and they can see for themselves. Although, the problem is accentuated by many Gay Men, that seem to have 2 common interests and/or traits. Sex and Ego

paz_the_gnome saidi fully agree with you. it's NOT just a gay thing though. it's a man thing. a guy that feels the need to prove how much of a man he is has already defeated himself because he's not secure with himself and who he is. he wouldn't need to prove that shit to other people or seek another person's approval if he was. there's nothing wrong with being skinny or overweight. just because someone looks fit or has muscles doesn't make them shit, a man or someone respectable. plenty of men with muscles that are really boys at heart because they have a lot of growing up to do.

    Nicely put there, paz_the_gnome

I quite like being over looked by people because 1) if someone is not attracted to someone else what's the point in pursuing it and 2) if they're only interested in certain types/looks its their loss so don't worry about it.

Why are you in Real JOCK then? It seems to me you're using a double standard here; you want your scrawny ass accepted but you're looking for a beefy jock yourself.

Indeed, this is like me going to a forum about cheese and telling them about how I hate cheese, and expecting the cheese-heads to agree!

Exactly. I'm not a jock myself (I'm a jock wannabe lol)so that's why I don't go around seeking attention and complaining about the fact that fit guys don't hit on me. It's so common on this site. Why would a skinny/chubby/average looking dude join a site for jocks and fit guys and complain about not being hit on?

Then he complains I am arrogant and egotistical. icon_rolleyes.gif

Scrawny body and a feeble mind.

Tbf though not everyone's here for dating muscular blokes. For example I'm on here to be able to talk to people about things that I don't know about and share my knowledge with other people.

    I agree!

I think it might be the heterosexual male code or society rule that men needs physical strength.

There is nothing wrong with being scrawny. Ive seen plenty of overweight women with guys who are very small so there obviously is some attraction to scrawny men in the straight world. I can only assume it works the same in the gay world. Not all gay men are attracted to the same type they are themselves. A muscular jock can be attracted to a really thin guy with no muscles. Everything is possible in the realm of dating.

Men are genetically designed for strength, they are suppose to be strong.

You must be trolling. No one is this wilfully stupid.

Hi. You bemoan the superficiality of the gay community while inferring your only use for gay men is sex.

I wish I was scrawny like I was when I graduated from high school; 6 foot 2 inches, 145 pounds. I was regular bean pole.

I do not see anything that I have ever said here, that would suggest that I am like that, at all, so thank you for the nonsense.RESIZED TEXT GOES HERERESIZED TEXT GOES HERE
