I got inspired by Oprah to just say, Hello.

A simple word or gesture can make someone smile. On my last thread, someone said "Hi", so I'm dedicating this thread to share the warmth.

Say HI if you feel happy, friendly, lonely, want to connect with someone, or just need to let us know that you are out there, etc.

By the way, you can say it in your native language to make it more interesting.

    I'll start.

    HI !!! icon_biggrin.gif

That reminds me, I went for an impromptu walk the other night through some country roads, past fields, horses etc. A race-dog walker, a complete stranger, who looked like she was heading to the farm/cattery & doggery nearby, made eye contact with me, smiled and said ''hello''....

I replied, probably a bit quietly as I wasn't expecting it at all, and was a bit taken by surprise...

It was like being in a scene of a 50's suburban family movie, or Emmerdale.

It's really not something that ever happens in London. Strangers saying hello to other strangers on the street. If if ever does, it's usually a precursor to somebody asking for money, sussing you out to see if they can possibly rob you or getting you to sign up to a charity.

I was on the London outskirts on this occasion though, but even still...

It was a strange experience for me. Not an unpleasant one though. Just one I'm not very accustomed to.

I might try it out myself.

    As an experiment :]

    Interesting times.

    @ paz

I believe you misread the quote. He was making an argument that certain individuals behave a certain way because our ancestors had similar tendencies back when they dealt with their own issues. To say that scruffypup was calling black people animals is unfair.

he was implying some racist shit and has a history of doing it too so it really doesn't matter at this point.

scruffypup can keep on trying to deny whatever but i made my point and he keeps proving it like his original post in this thread.

You're way off the mark, man up say you were wrong (in this case) and move on. Better yet delete your posts and hope scruff follows so this thread can be put back to its fun purpose

Not to jump in and tag team or anything, but i've noticed some questionable things/comments/posts/memes too for a hot minute, here and there over the years, and eventually a straw can break a camels back, so to speak.

I'm honestly going to give the benefit of doubt for now though, as we as black people who are used to dealing with casual race humour at black people's expense from non-black people who may or may not be aware, intend or even care whether they are or not causing offence, will naturally tend to be more sensitive to jokes and questionable comments as regards to or referencing our race by those who are not of it, and who we don't know well enough to reliably gage genuine intention from.

So, for that reason, it's usually better to err on the side of caution and forethought re race jokes/question comments that are not of your own race, especially if you're doing so from a position of race privilege in whatever society one happens to be in.

    It's a sad reality, but that's a truth nonetheless.

Anyway, not to derail the topic lol, hi and bye ! :]

∆ Whatever you do, don't watch Tosh.0 or Dave Chappelle.....you'd have a friggin' stroke! Not sure why there should be different social protocol on an all adult gay men's website than Prime Time TV.
