When you can spend a Saturday afternoon goofing off on the computer, life is good.

Spending an afternoon with friends sitting in the beer garden fooling around with a toy helicopter that gets caught in the trees and one of you has to go and try and retrieve it.

When you sit at a coffee shop, while its raining outside and every hottie that passes by checks you out.

Sitting in a beachside cafe in LA, watching the scenery go by outside in the rain, sipping some iced tea, and playing with a half dozen new PDA prototypes. Love the new Sony Mylo BTW - seems to be much faster than the iPhone, though not as nice a GUI.

The Nokia N800 is also pretty damned nice.

I've been pondering the N800 like I pondered the N770 before it. But, I keep coming to the conclusion that it'll end up being a toy that I won't really use very much.

Waking up in the morning after it's rained, the world's dripping wet and glistening in the morning light.

And yes, it does rain in Southern California, wel at times.

After a solid week stuck in a training session in an airless windowless room with an hour-long commute each way (no time or energy for exercise!) and tons of fatty, sugary foods all aroundt...today I'm thrilled that I got to sleep in, do cardio, finish laundry, clean the kitchen, and lift weights, and eat healthy.

    You know life is good:

    - When the guy you love has prepared your morning pre-workout drink and tells you that you are the world to him.

    - That at 45 erections are still spontanieous.

    - That you can travel the world with the guy you love.

    - That you have good health.

When you wake up thinking that you have to get up to go to work...and then you realize it's Saturday

When you and your BF are away in a snowy mountain lodge for the weekend and never put on more and a pair of pajamas

When you're playing with a basket full of puppies

    When you're... Dancing

You get a toy helicopter for your birthday. Hahahaha I am just amazed at the coincidence that it is mentioned on here and then I get one for my htxis-ytfif birthday.

Who would think of giving such a gift to an "old man." ....guess my brother was looking for something fun to pick up my spirits. He did it. It is charging now.

I will try flying it tomorrow. Lord help me. I have never played any of those games with a control box and joy sticks. I will have to see if I have the coordination for this. :-)

    Libra...

From just a brief initial look
A Libra seems a hopeless schnook
At second glance, we soon detect
    Our first impression was correct
His house is filled with friends who mooch
Who borrow his cash, who drink his hooch
Let's hope his giving never ends
We'd hate to see him without friends.

Things making me happy at the moment:

    Hot spiced cider.

People showing up for an evening of board games.

The full spectrum light bulbs I recently installed throughout my house.

Solving a work problem which had been annoying me for a week (for the techie types, I finally got my PCR to work).

My library system doing a great job of having the books I want to read and the classic movies I want to watch.

A very comfortable couch to sit on while I write this.

Realization that what "stress" I have at the moment comes from having a large number of things I want to do, both recreationally and at work, and not necessarily having time to do them all, when there are so many worse things others have to be concerned about.

Today I'm thankful for making it thru Chili Day without killing myself.
Chili omeletes, chili dip, chili dogs, chili and tots, and chili pizza is enough to kill a man!

    LOL

You open the picture you took just the day before of your husband standing in the middle of a pumpkin patch with a silly grin on his face with the beautiful hills of Connecticut as a backdrop and you realize how lucky you are.

For me... when the choreography clicks and you no longer have to think about the technical steps... and then you begin to just dance the shit out of the piece not noticing the toll on the body til the silence that follows the song!

When you've spent just a couple of months living and working in a different place, and the people who became your friends throw a casual going away party complete with cake that says "We'll Miss You". Completely unexpected and very moving.

You're at Austin City Limits music festival and you're walking past legendary musicians performing on one stage because there's an even cooler band playing on another stage across the park. Sorry Indigo Girls, but Muse was too cool to miss. Life was very good last weekend.

When walking home, arms and fingers aching from all the groceries I am carrying,
and then suddenly a homeless person asks without a trace of irony: "Do you have any spare change?"
