Whatever you do, don't show up at the interviewer's house, asking him why he hasn't called you back. That almost always never works.

Go to the job site and see if someone else is sitting in your chair. If it looks like they've been there for a month, you'll know the party's over.

Put your eggs in several baskets. Leave them in one and they may go rotten.

While you're making the pitch, you believe in it completely. After it's made, you forget about it entirely and go on to the next one.

Jobs... dunno. Most of the ones I've had were sure things. That is, I felt things out through back channels way before I ever filled out an application.

(Goes the other way too. I've been invited out to places for a guest lecture, taken out, gotten drunk, said something stupid, realized suddenly that I've just blown a clandestine job interview. icon_eek.gif )

You didn't get the job, move on. Company usually takes about 1-2 weeks most to reply after an initial interview. Sometimes, they don't even reply back at all. Who knows, maybe you lack experience, screw up in the interview. Potential employers are kinda a*hole like that, not letting candidates know. GL with your next one.

How do you know that they will hire someone from the school and not other candidates from outside the school? Also, what kind of job is it?

At your next interview, wear tighter pants. And wink at the interviewer a few times.

Same thing you do when it has been over 2 weeks since you heard from a guy you went on a date with.

(It has nothing to do with making phone calls from a public phone box in another town with a towel over the mouthpiece of the phone).

This is for an internship at a company that normally takes a long time to get back to people. At my school, companies have good relations with the class and usually (always) get back to people after an interview.

All these overreactions aren't helping :-(

Strange that you're looking for advice yet you left that those important facts out.

    Contact the HR again?
Recently, I wrote a letter to a company letting them know how unprofessional it is to not give a feedback, after I devoted a whole weekend to complete a home assignment given by them. They called me an hour later.

Interesting. But did you get the job?

send out a few more applications...an interview does not guarantee you a job.
