When do you stop lying about your age?

I will admit to having lied about my age in the past. In my early to mid 40's I would pull a Jack Benny and say that I was 39. After that, I just don't see the point.

I see a lot a guys' pics, even here, that look as old and older than me that say they are much younger. It kind of make me mad since, by comparison, I must be really ancient. Either that, or, I look damn good for my age.

    Your thoughts?

I hate it when gay guys have a hundred different deal breakers, but for me lying about your age is definitely one.

I'm completely comfortable with my age. I have never needed to lie. I am 38.

30s and 40s I used to back it up a few years but then I just decided that was crazy, either like me for who I am, including my wisdom and experience (ie: old age) or not. Now I'm up front about it get constantly told I don't look that old. Also found that guys still talk to me, even at 39, I mean 56. icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif

You should never start lying about your age to begin with.

I've never done it, and I don't ever see a reason to do so either.

if you want to seem to be another age...just dont tell them in the first place.

i card all my dates anyway, so lying doesnt work.

I used to lie about my age a lot.
I often add 3 years more to my age.
    Now I don't.

I can see there are so many people at their 30s , 40s, even 50s and they still act like an immature teenager, age has nothing to do with me.

But we're so appearance oriented, would it really matter in the end? Imagine a hot guy who's incredibly handsome and has a top notch body and he says he's 29 when he's really 32. Everyone would be wanting to jump his bones regardless of how old he said he was.

But I agree on the basis of simple honesty; I can't imagine being in an LTR with someone who I knew lied about their age. The above was more of hookup scenario.

Those celebs that lie about their age make me laugh. I used to be younger than Nicole Sherzinger but now I am older than her? How confusing.

It's inappropriate to ask a person's age in the first place. That should not be a factor in how attractive a person is. If it is important, you've got issues. I think all sites should be like Scruff and make it so you can hide your age if you want. I think ten years from now the age category will disappear completely.

I don't lie about my age. I'm good with being 58!
Sometimes I will put in age: 99 (or whatever) when I'm not wanting to be specific.

It's a factor in how likely an emotional connection or matching level of maturity will be possible. A 22 year old dating a "25-year-old" who is actually 35 risks being manipulated and taken advantage of.

I don't think thats necessarily true. I over exaggerated my age so that I wouldn't get the typical brush off by people who think that being younger means you don't have a mind of hour own. Technically after about 18 your body stops growing so you're a full adult and theres very little difference between a man of 20 and a man of say 30 or 35.
