Hi guys, I need some help as I am going to Toronto for 3 days at the start of April and as I've never been before I don't know where the best place to stay would be. I'm looking on airBnB for a place but don't know where the main area of the city is to work out which part to stay in is. I'm on a limited budget so not looking for anything fancy just close to transport links and where all the shops, restaurants etc are.
Also, I'll be arriving at Pearson airport and leaving from Billy Bishop, how do you get to and from the airports easily and cheaply?

    Thanks for any help

Pierson airport is a long way from the city.. You'll have to take a airport limo. $55-$60

The Billy Bishop airport is int he middle of the city so very close to everything.

The gay village is Church Street. There are a few B& B's nearby and some good hotels. It's about 4 or 5 blocks from the heart of the city, easily assesable by transit.

The village is pretty great.. And the city is completely gay friendly. Lots of bars and restaurants, and the city itself is amazing with TONS to do...

Look here.. You'll love the gay village...

There is an express bus from Pearson to the downtown core. I think the ticket is about $30. That's your best bet.

Toronto is a great city and hopefully by April it will be alot warmer - it is now -18 tonight so be ready to pack for cold weather.

There are few transport options from the airport. Cab/limo is the easiest but most expensive. There is a direct bus that stops at hotels and the train station (Union) downtown for $40 return (google Pearson Airport Express). You don't have to be staying at the hotels but can jump off and grab the subway. The two of Toronto's three subway lines (this is not London) go through Union.

The cheapest but longer way is to catch the 192 bus to Kipling subway station. The bus is about $5 and then the subway is about $3. You are at the end of one of the lines and it is about 30 minutes on the subway - about an hour to 90 minutes all in. Google "TTC Service to Pearson Airport"

Billy Bishop is really easy from downtown - it is on a little island on the lake and if you had an hour you could walk to it or grab a cab - they also have buses but I am not too sure where they pick up.

    Enjoy the trip.

From Pearson is a shuttle to the train at Kipling Station:

The train runs constantly, along Bloor to downtown. Hop off anywhere near Yonge if you like to walk around town.
