ok, so now we have collector's plates, coins comparing him to Kennedy (a crummy president at best), and now a sex symbol. Pardon me as I throw up my lunch, and ponder suicide...

samerphx saidlol I don't think Obama is that attractive.

As far as president's go he is not bad looking or in bad shape. Look up Grover Cleveland or William Howard Taft sometime. Morbid obesity was a problem 100 years ago as well!

I think Obama is a great example of a very healthy, attractive over 40 man.

He is perfectly built (natural) not roided out bulky and not skinny.

Wall Street Journal, August 1, 2008

Speaking to donors at a San Diego fund-raiser last month, Barack Obama reassured the crowd that he wouldn't give in to Republican tactics to throw his candidacy off track.

"Listen, I'm skinny but I'm tough," Sen. Obama said.

But in a nation in which 66% of the voting-age population is overweight and 32% is obese, could Sen. Obama's skinniness be a liability? Despite his visits to waffle houses, ice-cream parlors and greasy-spoon diners around the country, his slim physique just might have some Americans wondering whether he is truly like them.

"He's too new ... and he needs to put some meat on his bones," says Diana Koenig, 42, a housewife in Corpus Christi, Texas, who says she voted for Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary.

"I won't vote for any beanpole guy," another Clinton supporter wrote last week on a Yahoo politics message board.

Hey all I can say is at least he makes it a point to keep active and healthy, swims and goes to the gym. Remember, he's straight, married with kids, and busier than most of us are.

And above all he's not afraid of being photographed. I say thumbs up for the O Man.

All I can say is that he is a far cry from presidents past. He may be a little pudgie here and there (like I have any room to talk), but at least he stays active with his daughters and play basketball.

He's above average for a typical 47 year old. . . but probably should work on his abs more, tone up a little. His arms are kinda skinny too, needs to work on his biceps

In much better shape than a recent president of similar age (Bill Clinton).

I worked on a few campaigns from May until November. That any candidate can run for office and not put on 40 lbs is a wonder.
