AWESOME, omfg. I remember seeing this as a little boy and drooling. Had totally forgotten about it.

Love Larry's hat and Joe's pants with the belt at his rib cage, LOL!

I thought this was another race thread when you said that. Eugen Sandow was very hot (and gay for pay apparently).

And just think - THAT BODY WAS BUILT WITHOUT STEROIDS.

I think "Ellery" was gay adorkahunk and YouTube fitness guru "Scooby's" style guru:

That body was built on brisket.

If Bess Myerson was the first Jewish Miss America, was Clancey Ross the first Jewish Mr. America?

I remember this movie making me crazy as a child.
It came out before I was born but I saw it once or twice and then it disappeared for decades. The hot parts aren't in this clip though. As with many early movies, when I found it on eBay, the star wasn't as unbelievably built as I had remembered.

Good old Jack Carson in "Mister Universe" - always played the same part, the sleazy agent/promoter. Who played Mister Universe, Buster Crabbe?

Armand Tanny seems to be packin' - not that I was checking or anything.

    That was Vince Edwards.
I was so hot when I saw him as a child and now, well, I'd be so sad if I looked like that after years of going to the gym. icon_wink.gif

I didn't want to start a new thread but Justin St. Paul definitely needs a look.

I added a pic of Julian St Paul to my roster of daily gym motivation images. Julian Navarro is my current favorite.

More classic black & white muscle appeared on the Golden Age of Game Shows. Before they got racy in the sixties ("Newlywed Game") and dirty in the seventies ("Match Game"), game shows were New York-based, classy, well-mannered affairs evoking parlor games at The Algonquin with socialites, columnists and A-list stars amongst the ranks of panelists. Hosts were deferential, and contestants and politely applauding studio audiences alike dressed to the nines. It was a different, more respectful time, and the RJ crowd will find that particularly entertaining on the shows on which BODYBUILDERS appeared. Examples?

Check out "Mister Universe" on "I've Got A Secret." (Yeah. We wish.) This 28 year old stud poses like the world's biggest douchebag narcissist yet remains adorably humble, softspoken and polite throughout:

In case you missed it, the blonde panelist is "Mrs. Voorhees," "Jason's" mother from the original "Friday the 13th" - the brunette is Bess Myerson, the first Jewish Miss America whose political career ended in scandal in the '80s. The contestant addressed both women as "ma'am" even though both were only a few years older.

Here on "You Bet Your Life," hunky, single 40 year old exercise guru Jack LaLanne remains civil and more subdued than you've ever seen him as he gets disrespected by host Groucho Marx:

He doesn't even take his fitted suit jacket off during his appearance but fear not; while maintaining the height of propriety onscreen, off set Jack was engaging in some shenanigans that still raise eyebrows:

Just a few years later millions of housewives got to know a more "MANic" and re-sanitized LaLanne on his iconic TV show, never seen in less than his trademark, manly unitard:

ROBOT MONSTER was another childhood movie tht made me hot as hell. When the hero took off his shirt at 1:05, my eyes popped out of my head with desire. When I ran into the MST3K version decades later, I could hardly see what the big deal was. Not that I'd kick him out of bed...

^Yeah, he's weird but his body is OOOOOOKAY.
My issue with Scooby is that he has plenty of YouTube videos that don't feature the great looking guy in the thumbnail.

a little off topic but, i can only imagine growing up in that day...

if i saw him on tv (Clancy Ross, first video), it would have only reinforced me wanting a guy like him so badly... but in that day, it would have basically been impossible for a multitude of reasons for it to ever happen (No gay culture then, and the fact there were almost no bodybuilders)

    that would truly be depressing!
