You'll notice not so long ago Bank of Montreal became BMO, Bank of Nova Scotia became Scotia Bank, The Royal bank of Canada dropped the crown from its logo and renamed RBC. Toronto Dominion became TD. Now they're all safely non-foreign to operate in the US market and won't scare away customers by being Canadian.
