Do you have a Minister, Preacher, Pastor, etc. in your family that does or would inhibit you from coming out?

No, but my mother is a devoted Christian. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I just need to change her views on homosexuality.

Strangely we have no Krazy Kristian Kult members in my family. No one has found it necessary to believe in the magic man in the sky or any of the other deluded concepts for weak minded morons.

I'm not sure about the vengeful hateful God. But I do believe in a higher power that created this universe and everything in it.

So do I and so do many members of this group.
Of course, we're unfortunately burdened by atheists here who burst into threads like these, insulting people and inhibiting discussion.

my husband's parents are something like a Minister, Preacher, Pastor, etc in their little cult church in Idaho.

They have supported their son as gay and always had.

-parents; never put your belief system ahead of you family
-no one, as they hit middle age, should blame their parents that they are not out. just face it your never coming out.

My sister's first husband became a religious nut, which broke up their marriage.
My mother, in later years, became a religious nut.

But, nobody in my family is actually in the business...

I believe in a higher power. I'm not clear on whether it's an old man with a beard or a giant all-knowing squid.
All of my family are fine with my spiritual life and fine with my being gay.

My first cousin is a rabbi in Waco, Texas. I think he wears a Stetson instead of a yarmulke. (The Torah only commands that the head be covered; it doesn't specify with what.)
