Half of all men can't get it up?

So I don't know if it's just bad luck or something else, but probably about half of the guys I've been with in the past year have been unable to acheive a full erection. These are healthy guys between 23-50 yrs old. Being a versatile bottom this outcome is usually not the most...favorable.

Now we've probably all had one time or another where we couldn't get it up when we wanted , so I understand that, it just seems to me like its especially common lately. So I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed or experienced this level of chubbie snubs.

If you have noticed this what do you think the deal is?

If you have not noticed this, what do you think my deal is?

I would guess this mostly happens when you go for a quick hook-up. You may not meet each other expectations, and still continue to engage in sex just to get-off.

What Im saying is most gay men are bottoms, and some would top just to get laid, but would also rather bottom. A normal 20-40y guy shouldn't have erectile disfunction unless they don't really wanna do it, as simple as that.

I first noticed it when I came out in the 1990s. And it was like MOST of the men couldn't get as hard as I did. They'd plump a bit, but still be rather limp.

And I thought to myself, is this normal? Do NO men get as rock hard as I do? Am **I** the exception here? I had no prior experience, so I didn't know.

I finally concluded that a great many gay men are on anti-depressants, that cause ED problems. It later happened to me, when I was put on anti-depressants due to my epilepsy. And I promptly took myself off them, when I experienced the unacceptable side effects of a soft dick, and difficulty orgasming.

So that's what I think the "deal" is in many cases. Along with tricking with guys from the bar, or at parties, who've had too much alcohol.

It's probably crystal meth instead of anti-depressants tbh.

Likely not in the time frame when I was single in the '90s. But maybe in some cases with our OP. Many kinds of drugs are frequently detrimental to steel-hard boners, both the recreational and the prescription stuff.

Anti-depressants can't be the only reason for half of the male population to experience erectile disfunction.

Well "half" is a subjective observation, not a valid statistic.

But I do know that MOST guys I had sex with in the '90s were disappointingly limp. Was it me? Was it them?

Some admitted to me, as a way of apologizing, that they were on anti-depressants. So that put the idea into my head. And later when I read reports, and even stuff online here, about how many gay men are on anti-depressants, that seemed to reinforce it as a cause. Coupled with my own brief ED experience with those same prescription drugs.

Kind of bullshit particularly considering the OP's OP because it could simply indicate--not that most gays are bottoms--but how many gays are not into anal sex at all.

Just because some gay people might not get hard to top an ass, doesn't mean that person would get hard to have someone in their ass. It doesn't make them a bottom. It might simply mean they don't get into ass.

Not everyone is an ass person. And just because they are not an ass person doesn't mean that they don't instantly get hard when presented with what does turn them on.

No one got it up for you, Stuart.

Unless your Reaper world aliens were into that sort of thing.

Which, knowing you, wouldn't surprise me.

May have something to do with the amount of porn available.
Back in the day it was a rare, super rare treat, just to see another cock much less touch it--expectations are at an unattainable level now?
Personally the only time I haven't been able to get hard was with woman; worse, faking orgasm after hours of penetration just to keep her from crying.
Never had a guy cry; a couple that only got of with masturbation, getting off more by pleasing me--works for me.

I could see that, in my case these guys all seemed pretty into me, i.e. they were definitely not dissappointed. And mind you some of them did not meet my expectations, but I was still able to get hard quickly.

As far as alcohol goes, I never fuck when someone is drunk.

Antidepressants and other drugs as a culprit sounds reasonable to me. I also wonder how much porn is involved, If we are training ourselves to get hard because of imagery and perfect bodies, we might have a difficult time getting hard in actuall situations.

Alcohol can impair erections long before a man is actually drunk. It varies greatly by individual. Alcohol can also magnify the effects of meds, that separately may not be boner killers, but combined can be death to hardons. Then throw in cigarette smoking, which can also impair erections slightly, plus maybe a touch of performance anxiety, and you've created a "perfect storm" for flaccidness.

When I was single on the prowl I always controlled my bar drinking. A couple of drinks helped me to loosen up and be less shy and more sociable, but anything more and I knew I might be underperforming in bed if I succeeded in snagging a guy. My priority was sex, not spirits, and having gotten a guy that far I wasn't about to disappoint either him or myself.

Ooh that's interesting I always need a small glass of wine or two before sex but the past 3 times I couldnt get a full hardon. Do you think 2 wines could have this effect?

Excessive pornography and masturbation respectively desensitize the brain and the penis nerves, the first by creating overblown expectations plus a neurochemical addiction, the second by forging into a necessity a very specific pressure, speed, length of time etc beating off of your meat.

Just go on nofap and noporn, gentlemen.

I've noticed that with porn actors the ones that are really hung rarely get fully hard.
You're not restricting yourself to only horse hung guys are you?

Haha! no. While, some of them were large, some of them weren't but maybe few that were big made the issue seem more common?
