I have never seen it written anywhere exactly what "Block" accomplishes. Does it prevent emails from getting through? If so, does the "blocked" member learn that he has been blocked?

Forum block = Hides all posts from the person you've blocked. But you'll see their posts if someone quotes them.

Profile block = Prevents you from seeing emails sent by the person you've blocked. They can still see your profile, and you can see theirs.

The blocked person does not know. If they send you an email, it just appears to them that it was sent and you just didn't respond.

I never likes the idea that a person can still see your profile when you have them on profile block.

If I simply wanted to ignore their emails I would just ignore their emails.

Profile block should be more absolute than it is now.

Yeah, I agree. But since the profiles are tied to the forums, it adds another layer of complexity/logic in the website code. Something the site owners obviously didn't want to pursue or simply neglected.

it shouldn't be that hard to implement. if you block someone or if someone blocks you, you should be able to see their profile or their forum posts and vise versa. it would depend on how the site was originally designed

Boy, I wish someone would email me enough times that I'd have to block them.

Maybe RJ should have an "automatically forward" option, so we make sure the sex solicitation emails got delivered to those who wanted to get them. A guy could sign up for this option.

I agree. When you block someone then it should be absolute. You can't see them. They can't see you. It should be impossible to send messages and whatever posts you wrote in whatever forum should be invisible. It should be anonymous too.

I know on some apps and websites, the block function is definite unless you unblock them.

On Manhunt, you have to be a member to block. What!

Well, it prevents me from seeing musclefetish's bullshit on the bulletin boards, so it's pretty fucking awesome.
