    About a year after I joined this site, I dumped my whole hotlist and started from zero again. It's been interesting to see how my tastes have changed some since I started working out regularly and making progress.icon_razz.gif

    Funny thing is that I rarely have added anyone to my hotlist in the last year - maybe 3. I just don't use my own much. I think that if I think someone's hot, I'll tell them directly with a message. This way I can either make a new friend, compliment a brief acquaintance, or be ignored and build up points as an 'old creeper.'

    I rarely add people now;

    I don't think there is such a thing as a hotlist that is too long.

    No, I already found my guy;

    Nope.

    I don't think a whole lot more should be read into my "Hotlist" other than that they are guys I think are "hot" based on the pics in their profile. Doesn't mean I necessarily want to date them, or that they are even my "type".

    My hotlist represents guys that first I find very attractive and my type.
    Often though I will see a post in a forum that I like and when checking their profile like how they look as well so they go on the list!

    When I see from my hot list members a negative, sarcastic post belittling others or they are nasty to me I instantly delete them!

    yes.. I choose the guys in my hotlist very carefully, at some point I deleted several guys from my hotlist just to make it only for really special guys ..
    When you have too many people in your hotlist it loses it's effect ..

    I dont even know who I hotlist anymore half the time. I see a goodlooking guy and/or they have a nice profile they get hotlisted. I may edit and delete if I feel they are using a fake profile or if I dont like there attitude.

    I rarely add guys to my hotlist. I usually delete them from it. I've added guys and they end up being rude and when I message someone I expect a reply. When guys hotlist me I usually thank them. It's polite.

    I find that now I use my hotlist only to talk about how I use my hotlist.

    I never tire of talking about my hotlist.

    Ask me anything about my hotlist.

    Please.

    I normally hotlist guys who I think have great looks, body, smile and personality.

    I can check a guys profile and if there is:

    No face pic
    No details about themselves
    Dodgy, fake looking pics
    Bad attitude
    No_________ (ie: fats, femmes, asians, black, old etc) requests
    Text talk (Lolz)

    I wouldn't hotlist those guys even if they look "hot"

    i add people whose pics i like if i get a note saying that they've hotlisted me. i don't scan through the ads looking for people to add. i'm here more for the forum, so unless someone reaches out to me via email/forum/hot listing me, i don't generally know they exist. with that said, i don't add someone just b/c they add me - my hot list is pretty indicative of my type(s).

    Well... * breathily *

    It all started back when I saw my first hot guy on RJ. I said to myself... geez, now what should I do? Should I put him on my hotlist cause he's hot? That would be the obvious thing. BUT! What happens if I think 1000 guys are hot? How would I manage such a list? What would others think of me? What would I think of me? Should I think about what others think of me?

    Then I thought, maybe I should hotlist only other guys who hotlist me. BUT! What if nobody hotlists me? What if somebody hotlists me who I don't think is hot?

    Then I started thinking, what really is "hot" anyway? What if I think someone is warm? There's no warm list. Is there a lower temperature on the hot list? Would it include warm? Would I want a warm boyfriend? Would my idea of warm be different from other guys'? If you put a warm guy in the microwave, could you make him hot? Would Chucky tell him to stop whining and eat more? What if his profile pictures were Photoshopped? Would he still be hot? What was that dream I had about my hotlist last nite?

    ...

    * wanders off, mumbling *

    If I think someone is hot, I'll say so directly to them. To be more specific, I prefer saying what I find hot about him rather than a simple judgement of "I think you're hot."

    My hotlist therefore goes unused because I prefer to communicate it explicitly. Does that make sense?

    Do people find it offensive if there is no reciprocity with mutual hotlisting? I try to always acknowledge the compliment but now I'm not so sure that should be standard protocol.

    Where's Ms. RealJock Manners when you need her?

    Brady, I've wondered the same thing. . . I'm also happy when someone hotlists me, and I want to thank them. . . but then I think maybe it is indeed some violation of RJ protocol, so sometimes I don't

    Do you, littledude, mutual hotlist or simply reply with a thanks? Which do you think is more appropriate?

    That's a good question. Sometimes, I mutual hotlist, because very often I find the guy hot anyway. Occasionally I say thanks, and once in a while, I get that feeling that the best etiquette is to say nothing (although in both circumstances I often find the guy hot). I know that sounds inconsistent, but whatever way I respond, I'm flattered by every hot list I get.

    By the way, Brady, I think you're on my hotlist!

    ***Actually I just checked...I could've sworn you were on it....but you aren't....but I know I meant to add you a long time ago....so I just added you now icon_biggrin.gif
