I have been wanting to make one of these threads for a while but today felt like the right time to do it.

As most of you know, I have had Open Heart Surgery in Sept 2011. Due to complications and bed rest I gained weight and weighed 320 lbs July of 2012, when I was fully healed. Since then I have been allowed to do a lot of stuff I was never allowed to do: Play sports, Run, and be active....

I started my diet by juicing, I ate no solid food for 2 months and lost 50 lbs. I felt amazing after that...I then got my ass on a bike and biked for 2 hours every day for 3 months. I then got a gym membership and got my ass on a treadmill and started lifting weights...Finally last May on my birthday I decided to do something that I always wanted to do...MMA fight. Since then I have been working with trainers and fighting. During this time I have even ran a few 5Ks and timed around 30-33 minutes per race...this is amazing for me since I was NEVER allowed to run as a kid.

So why now am I writing this? Well as of today I hit 195 lbs. This was the weight my doctors wanted me to reach. It was very hard to get to this point but I have done it...and now I have my personal goal to reach, which is 170-175 lbs.

I have a lot of people to thank and one big thank you is to the people of Real Jock. You have all pushed me with your amazing pictures and even with the tips some of you gave me!

    THANK YOU

Congrats Rad!! You look fantastic and happy. I hope you reach that goal.

A question tho, did riding a bike help that much? I just started riding again and I'm not sure if it will help me drop the weight but my legs need the work out so I know its benificial.

Thanks Guys. Responses like these and the ones I got on facebook is what's responsible for keeping me going!!!

@flguy57- Well, I weighed 270 Lbs at the time and I was going up hills. I really did cardio and I think I lost 20-30 lbs in the two months I did it. It also really strengthened my knees, which I was having problems with at the time.
