An interesting discussion I'm following on another site... Personally I don't get it. It makes sense if you're cynical and think that American politicians (both left and right) have created a system where they can extract money from businesses when they create loopholes for firms rather than making the playing field easier for everyone...

Why do you continue this anti-US crusade on this site? Is someone paying you? Or do you have some personal ax to grind?

Because your anti-US obsession doesn't make any sense otherwise. What possible interest do you have in US politics & economics, that it's mainly what you talk about? I'd like to hear your alternate explanation from Canada. Thank you.

I have a company in the US and do a considerable amount of business now in the US. Do you disagree with this article?

I'm very much pro-US. I'm disagree with many of your views because I see them as destructive to how and why the US has been so successful historically and economically in the past.

I'm surprised you see any form of criticism or views that are contrary to your own as attacks on your country. I think this is more reflective of you than the specific issues I have spoken out about.

You do NOT have a company in the US. You don't have diddly squat in the US. Now try another excuse.

Except I do and the filing requirements are a pain. I'm surprised you think you know anything about me. It must trouble you to believe that I have a company in the US - but I'm not responsible for the choices you've made in your own life or your petty jealousy.

His crusade is not anti-US even if it goes against your positions.

Sigh, looks like Art_Deco hasn't gotten over his habit of abusing people on the basis of nationality.

He used to do it to me. Now he just pretends I don't exist.

Funny how the Left like to fashion themselves as the compassionate and tolerant ones, yet observe the stupidity coming from this man's mouth (or fingers typing icon_razz.gif ), and you will see that it is utter hatred for, and this is the best part, a fact which only special quality, is that a Conservative talks about it.

I wonder if he would say the same thing about Shark Man (name changes too often) if he wasn't American?

The Hypocrisy of the Left does get a little tiring sometimes. At least it gives others a lot of material to point to for not trusting what they say or being cynical about any position.

I think much of it relates to:

    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/3706949/

"Motorcycling actually kept my drinking lower than it is now. If I rode to a bar on my bike I had 2 drinks at most, often just 1, and as soon as I arrived. Then waited at least an hour from when I finished my last drink before getting on my bike again. Ride impaired on a motorcycle and you won't last long."

"I think the evening martinis, sitting in the attached screen room in a lounge chair, helped to win him over. And sleeping on a thick mattress next to me, the screened windows open on 3 sides, listening to the soothing evening sounds as breezes blew over us. He had no work to do, I did it all, nothing but be there and enjoy it."

I think the fascinating discussion here (and the point of the post) is that many people are willing to pay more in taxes in return for a bureaucracy that is easy to manage and regulations that are easy to comply with. You would think that activists on all stripes would at least agree in pretty much any country that it's in your best interest to make a tax code that's easy to understand and easy to comply with.
