I would have just saved the embarrassment and write off the $70K. Would love to see a pic of the guy and the guy who swindled him lol

Considering that OKCupid's safety tips include "don't send money", this guy doesn't have a case. He got caught up thinking that he could land someone if he sent them money. You can't buy love and affection, that's age old common sense that no dating site should have to advertise.

Oh please, why would OKCupid be responsible for his stupidity? $70K, OMG, who gives someone $70K that they don't know? And then he's paying more for attorneys to a bogus lawsuit. OKCupid should counter sue him for defamation!

I am really confused, here. You send someone $70,000 over the Internet? Then you call the cops? For what? He obviously got suckered. How are they responsible?

Gosh i need to go to Nigeria to be taught how to persuade someone to send me 70 thousand dollars sight unseen.. these motherfuckers must have degrees in the power of persuasion. OkCupid is not at fault. His dumb ass is.

Get some dick and Ass first.. then pay if you want to give your life savings away... if you are that eager.

Sad to say, but all dating sites have scammers. Just like the guy in the story, people's judgements get clouded by love/emotions. I'm willing to bet there are more victims out there, but are too embarrassed to come forward.

I didn't know it was this easy to monetize OkCupid!

This guy is desperate, I would be too though if I got swindled out of 70 grand!
