I'll pass on movies and give you a few extra songs.

    Hobronto's Top 10 Songs of 2008:

    10. Kanye West - "Paranoid" on the album 808s & Heartbreak. (Yeah, it's actually...pretty damn good.)

    9. Fucked Up - "Twice Born" on the album The Chemistry of Common Life. (C'mon...a hardcore album that opens with a flute solo and disses on organized religion? How could I NOT love this?)

    8. Ben Folds - "You Don't Know Me" on the album Way To Normal. (Not his best album, but he is still a terrific songwriter.)

    7. Vampire Weekend - "Oxford Comma" on S/T album. (Best use of punctuation in a song. I realize this has been floating on EPs forever, but whatever...the album was officially released in '08.)

    6. Emily Wells - "Symphony 6: Fair Thee Well & the Requiem Mix" on the album The Symphonies: Dreams Memories & Parties. (The lady with a love of long song titles returns to do more interesting things within the "folk" genre. Friggin' Count Bass D is featured on one of the tracks!)

    5. TV On The Radio - "Dancing Choose" on the album Dear Science. (Their most accessible - and probably best - album. Dear Science will be on most critics' top 10 lists, and is possibly the most important album of the year.)

    4. The Magnetic Fields - "Drive On, Driver" on the album Distortion. (If you have the opportunity, see them perform live.)

    3. Bon Iver - "For Emma" on the album For Emma, Forever Ago. (Buy this now, particularly if you live in a cold climate. It was self-released in 2007, but major release in 20008.)

    2. The Faint - "Mirror Error" on the album Fasciinatiion. (Their best album to date. If you disagree, I will fight you.)

    1. Aimee Mann - "Thirty One Today" on the fantastic album @#%&*! Smilers (Honestly, just about any one of the songs on this album qualifies...just stunning.)

We only have to pick five! For both! That's hard.

    -"Disturbia" Rihanna

    -"L.E.S.Artistes" by Santogold

    -"Single Ladies" by Beyonce
Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

    -"Time to Pretend" by MGMT

-"White Winter Hymnal" by Fleet Foxes

There have been so many new movies that have came out in the last two months, so I still have a lot to see, but these ones I'm sure will make my top ten for the year.

    -"4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days"

    -"Edge of Heaven"

    -"Up the Yangtze"

    "Wall E"
