I hate musicals as well. I don't care much for TV either, so things like Will and Grace are out anyway.

I'll watch an opera in a second but the atmosphere of most musicals makes my skin crawl. Go figure.
(Not counting R&H, Guy and Dolls, Damn Yankees, Fiddler)
What do I hate about gays?
Take a look at the most obnoxious show on TV ever: Rich Kids of Beverly Hills.
People can act however they like but when everyone starts doing the exact same "I'm a sassy black woman" act, it's unbearable.

paz_daddy said ... i'm gay, accept it BUT @ the same time, i have cold feet about the whole damn thing where i don't even want to get involved ...
well it sounds like your out to your self, that is 2/3 of the battle.

stereotypically "gay" things I would do:
only a few; in 5 years how much of this stuff will be history, a lot of gay institutions are partially gone now.

Everything. I love men, but damn, the gay community is not very elegant, at least stereotypically speaking.

for real.. shit ain't. it seems fucked up if anything.

To be fair though, I also find many things to not be elegant (cultures etc.)

Agree, and that's the big problem around here the late afternoon /evening I would normally go out ..... Sunday .... showtunes and drag queens.

Took me a couple of decades to realize that I have nothing in common that's stereotypically gay except maybe going to the gym, but even that's a very straight gym.

Now true, I'm heavily into drag, but it's the kind of drag where you have to get up really early on Saturday and/or Sunday morning and you can get pretty good sunburns doing it.

Wow, all you people with strong feelings on this. The only thing I don't like are attitude queens. The rest of it is fine with me. I like musicals (well, real ones, not fake operas like Les Miserables--the only musical ever to be named for its audience) and I love a good drag queen.

And that too, oh yes .... that .... unless you're flying Delta and then they could be altitude queens.

I don't like the way gay men put each other into categories, and have gay community names for all these categories. What type of gym user you are, what type of lover you are, names for your dress sense and musical tastes, names for what age range you belong in, and how masculine or feminine you are.

I just hate the idea of somebody meeting me for the first time and immediately they've mentally filed me into a certain category. It all seems very judgmental to me.

    Well, lets see….

I don't go to bars. I don't go to clubs. I don't do hookups or anonymous sex. Not into musicals or female singers, or male singers for that matter. Don't own a leather jock strap, sling or a red feather boas. Haven't worn heels since I don't remember when. Mostly talk nice about most people, with a few exceptions. Don't hang with the 'in' crowd, never did. Have never been to a white or any other kind of 'boi' party. I have snorted more than a few lines of coke in my day. Have free-based some speed and snorted poppers, been involved in orgies, that sort of thing… but that was all in my younger years.

I'm really pretty fucking dull these days when you get right down to it.

    I'm not into anal.

Also I don't like gays who wear it on their sleeves to seek attention. I had a classmate who looked for every opportunity in class (discussion, presentation, etc) to talk about his gayness, etc. I think a lot of people in my class were fed up and tired of him.

    I love musicals though. icon_smile.gif

I'll admit I used to like Lady Gaga a lot... Then she did "Born this way", and it just got too gay for me, the weirdness for weirdness sake...

Well, Les Miserables was not intended to be an opera though. It's in its own genre. I happen to think Les Mis is an amazing piece of musical. icon_neutral.gif

Born This Way is her only good album tho.

I preferred her as a hipster icon than as a gay icon. I can literally see her managers urging her "gayness is in, your anthems will sell like hotcakes!"
