Here is the updated 2010 edition of a thread I started a couple of years ago:

This Christmas Eve I made dinner for my goy boy..... Chili with Sweet Potatoes and then his favorite- Coffee ice cream made from scratch.

Tomorrow no movies for us but we saw "The Black Swan" and "The Fighter" already....so really I only want to see "127 Days" and ....well that is about it.

How about you? Whatcha doing tonight? Whatcha doing tomorrow? icon_biggrin.gif

Resurrecting a thread from last year....hey it's a new holiday tradition!

I gave my goy b/f his xmas gifts, and now he is making me bagels with tomatoes and lox!

I think we are going to see the new George Clooney movie... "Up in the Air"

You can read below what everyone did last year.....or add what you are going to do this year.... icon_smile.gif

And happy holidays to EVERYONE! icon_smile.gif

Watched "A Christmas Story" about five times (my Jewish family's favorite), 90210 re-runs, wrote a few scholarship essays (gimme money for grad school!), then went to Chinese with Mom.

This is the first Christmas Eve and Day I haven't worked since 1998. Verrrrrrrrry strange feeling.

Many people asked me if I was jewish today since I went to work. I had nothing else to do since everything is closed and my friends are on vacation or celebrating Xmas.

I just don't participate in manipulating jesus' birthday to suit selfish materialistic expectations.

Instead, I donated to my charity, ate a birthday cake and am online.icon_smile.gif

LOL! I practically did the same thing as last year but am staying at a friend's place for the next couple days while she's in Mexico. She owns 8 ferrets and admittedly am terrified of the things. I have been using barbeque tongs to pick them up and place them in the cage at night.

It's been a really good Christmas day for me since I managed to avoid the whole day. Just turned off my phone and answering machine. Bliss!

I can't say I wasted an ENTIRE day watching Bondathon on Spike... but about 4 hours... and I'm not even Jewish (although, coming from a Hindu family it's not like we had anything better to do today).

Do Hindus also order Chinese for Christmas like Jews do? (:

I spent the day with Matt's neices (and their parents and grandparents).

I'm currently in the UAE/Middle East. I spent the day shopping and explaining to random people I met on the street that they don't have to tell me "Merry Christmas" just because I'm white. *sigh*

I know they're just being polite, but honestly, I don't expect Muslims in a largely Muslim country to tell people "Merry Christmas". I go through, explain that roughly 80 million Americans *aren't* Christian, about 25% of the US population.

If I really want to screw with people's heads, I'll politely tell them that Christmas isn't until January 7th (i.e. Eastern/Russian/Greek/etc. Orthodox Christmas). Hey, there's no reason they should assume that all Christians celebrate the Catholic/Protestant Christmas. There are 250-300 million adherents to Eastern Orthodox Christianity, after all. icon_smile.gif

Well I am Jewish, but hardly religious. My boyfriend loves xmas, more for the idea of the cooking, family, getting each other gifts etc... well today we kept it quite low, the night before we stayed up very late - till about 4 am with a big air mattress we put in the living room and had a camp out and watched tv all night and ate bad food (think ice cream and chocolate covered oreos!) and opened our presents.

Today he cooked a dinner for us and a friend of ours, I went out and got us bagels and cream cheese for breakfast at a deli where every Jew in LA was! I got to get out of the house and experience all the streets of LA with absolutely no bit of traffic - its very chilly in LA right now and I rolled down the windows, blasted house music and enjoyed the quiet streets - apart from my music icon_smile.gif

I came back, we hung out, I played on the net while he cooked, then we picked up our friend and went to see Valkyrie - which I thoroughly enjoyed - a lot!

We had dinner afterward, and now my bf is sleeping next to me. He is wiped out.

Hope everyone had a good holiday!

I did what any Gay Jew Boy would. I did yoga, had a bubble bath, and threw a pizza/pj party for gay orphans.

    It was fabulous.

Atheist, born from a Muslim family =/

Just recently completed my finals for the first semester (think I'm gonna fail most of them). Got a three week holiday that I plan to use to finally get back on track with my work-outs (my shirts are starting to get tighter, hopefully that just means I suck at laundry...).

Not going back to meet my family either, 3 weeks doesn't feel "enough" to spend money to go back to my country. Who'd pay hundreds of dollars just to go to a country that they're not so fond of, to meet people they are equally not too fond of?

Other than exercising, guess I'm gonna have a little fun with small simple activities like paper-mache sculpting, writing stories and such.

How sad does that sound >_>

One of my nephews has to work today, so we are not doing the christmas thing until tomorrow. Fine by me. Gives me a day to rest before having to cook dinner and deal with family. ... icon_biggrin.gif
