    just a curiosity question here.

I've heard about a group here in Brisbane that go jogging twice a week.

Sounds alright and I like the idea of meeting different people where it's not about a club, alcohol or sex.

Just wondering what peoples experiences have been?

    Yeah it is
I am a member of the frontrunners group here in Buffalo. Unfortunately it has become an old guys breakfast and social club. There are only a handful of serious, gay athletes in this group. It has become mostly retired guys. I don't bother much with the group anymore. I don't feel that I have much in common with most of the current members.

I've belonged to many gay or mostly gay groups & formal clubs over the years, and around the US. They have included:

    - motorcyclists
    - outdoor campers
    - naturists (nudists)
    - political clubs
    - community centers
    - monthly dinner groups
    - monthly breakfast group
    - performance choruses

I've enjoyed them all, loving the company of fellow gay men. None focused on alcohol per se, although the dinner groups would include cocktails or wine for those who wanted them, as you'd have at any dinner.

Nor did any groups involve sex, except one gay naturist group, but very restricted. Sex was strictly prohibited during official nude events, you could be expelled from the club.

But once the event concluded anyone who wanted to linger afterwards could choose to do so as individuals, and conduct themselves as they wished. But never on "company time", and most simply went home when the scheduled activity was over. I've never belonged to a sex club.

YourName2000 saidWell, the Vancouver Gay Community Centre (Qmunity) offers a gay group. It's called "knotty knitters". They knit.

That reminds me of my favorite cartoon show "Bobs Burgers."
One character found out another character liked to knit and started greeting him with, 'What up, my knitta!"

I'm a member of the Gay Martial Arts group via Meetup. Pretty new group and only one or two people besides me are experienced. Most members are interested in learning though.
