So - I have come to the conclusion that after years of being in and out of PT, ice-packs, etc. I need to approach my variable pain in a more "scientific" and naturopathic way. Because it seems no matter how careful I am or what exercises I do (or avoid), if I do ANY upper body exercises I inevitably get pain/tightness/soreness in my traps, and it's pissing me off.

It is annoying and hindering my meager progress due to fear of potential pain, and PT costs. You can tell by my pics that I'm not a "gym monster" and I try to workout 3x a week or so. My posture is quite decent and I generally know what not to do, and don't use very heavy weights - though I would LIKE to get a bit bigger - especially upper body.

I am thinking more and more that some regular Yoga based poses might help me stretch that area in a gentle but firm way if I did them very regularly. So I'm asking: What would you guys recommend? THANK YOU!!

I wouldn't mind getting some tips myself.
I'm much too tight and forget to stretch before I go to the gym.
