British hospitals incinerated the bodies of thousands of aborted and miscarried babies as clinical waste, with some used to heat hospitals as part of an energy efficiency programs, the Telegraph reports.

Ten hospitals of the National Health Service, the UK’s prized single-payer system, have admitted to burning fetal bodies with other medical waste. Another two NHS hospitals which housed “waste-to-energy” plants, which generate heat while eliminating so-called medical waste.

Addenbrooke hospital in Cambridge, England hosted a waste-to-energy plant where officials incinerated the bodies of 797 babies, while telling their mothers that the bodies would be “cremated.”

What did you want them to do with the aborted mess? Since the removed cells are not human, why not use them for whatever purposes the hospital sees fit?

That's er certainly one approach to take. Maybe they should have been more transparent with the would be mothers then with their approach. It's very um matrix...

Oh and if they're not human what are they?

A mass of cells, like liposuction or the removal of a tumor. Stop trying to make more out of this than it is. We get it abortion is evil and the mass of cells that is removed in the abortion process should be allowed to walk around in society and find a loving partner. Get over it.

I was more confused as to your word choice. They're still human parts - they may not be sentient or babies, but they're still human parts - and certainly not inert - but that's not what this is about.

Yeah... that's what happens during cremation.

Shouldn't there be a net energy loss from incinerating bodyparts since they are mostly water? So they are using the excess heat form the incinerator fuel burning.
    Still gruesome, though.

So what, the embryo is just as dead either way. So why not use it for some useful purpose? I assume they either throw abortion-remains in an incinerator or dumpster anyway. What does it matter?
