I suppose they are inevitable when you put pictures up on your profile but sometime I wonder why someone would choose to write what they do. Hmm.

I'm OK with unsolicited comments. . . actually I like them and it's to be expected on a site like this anyway, when posting pics of your body. I've appreciated virtually all of the comments I've received.

If you get a strange comment that doesn't seem to jive with reality, just discard it. Sometimes it's hard to figure out how other people perceive things.

I think it's fine, unless it's over critical or "I know fitness best" sounding. But then again I just delete those. I think on a social and fitness geared site like this it's expected and important for community building, I know it happens at the gym, and probably happens here for similar reasons.icon_cool.gif

I go by the adage ...

I'm all for corrective criticism if it's good icon_biggrin.gif

I don't mind constructive criticism but when it's directed over something you have no control over, in my case, my freckles, then it becomes a bit more personal.

if someone is critting your freckles they are just deranged. icon_eek.gif

I tell guys if I like what they´ve done with themselves icon_wink.gif It´s NEVER meant in a predatory way and I´d never make negative comments (that´s the kind of stuff I´d only say to a close friend if they specifically asked me, and maybe not even then).

ENjoy the flattery, ignore the crazies

And if you really don´t want comments, don´t put body pics up icon_rolleyes.gif

Don't be too sensitive Red. I think a lot of us like freckles. Just ignore that unsolicited comment. :-)

Years ago, in a gay.com chat room, a guy told me he hated the moles on my face. Of course, I can always surgically opt out of the mole-having lifestyle. It doesn't seem like there's any possible escape from the freckle-having lifestyle.

I'm to small, am not bald, don't have a neck roll, am not into plaid, leather, pleather, pleated, felted, homoerotic clothing, I'm either to girly or not girly enough (I'm never certain which way your swinging icon_razz.gif) and I don't get into anima, neither the animation or the clothing/hair do icon_biggrin.gif

One time someone messaged me this: "You'd be really hot if you lost 10 pounds."

I was taken aback, especially seeing as the person who messaged me had no pictures of himself.

My first conscious thought was, "Don't you think I know that!?" And then, "Why would someone take the time, muster the energy, to write me that?"

I replied to him: "Does that work often for you?" Because upon further thought, I suspected he was trying to tear down my confidence so I'd be easier manipulated into bed. I mean, true or not, who takes the time to say that to someone?

    Bah. People.

It floors me sometimes the insensitive comments that people make on the internet.
Obviously this person felt a need to insult you, because they obviously have a pathetic life and want to make themself feel better.
I hope you havent let this effect you because he's not worth it.
My faith tells me that you are the way you are because God made you and He doesn't make mistakes.
My non-faith side tell me that there are idiots out there, so fuck 'em!icon_twisted.gif

I came out of the gym wearing shorts one afternoon this summer. The dude said, "He's got legs!" Didn't know if he was queer or a faggot:
