    Gym Pet Peeves

    Followed by:
    - threads on turning 30
    - asking that you vote THEIR friend MOTD because it's their birthday or their dog died
    - drive-by links to "news" that's on MSN's homepage
    - whites are racist because I can't get them to date me threads
    - muscle guys are superficial because they won't date skinny or fat guys (who only want to date muscle guys) threads
    - dramatic exit threads
    - dramatic return threads
    - guys with abs rhapsodizing on the junk food they eat

    and finally:

    - threads seeking cheap, easy online sympathy

None. I can easily overlook the threads I'm uninterested in. The only threads I enter are the ones that interest me...like everyone else. icon_exclaim.gif

" is the guy above you..." nonsense. It's a discussion board, not a game icon_wink.gif

"Let's attack religion" threads that seem to deny the existence of any types of religious expression other than homophobic, misogynistic, hyperliteral, simplistic, fundamentalistic types of religious expression.

Agree, I wish the "guy above you" threads would disappear.

White people (or those who can pass as white) complaining about race threads is akin to men complaining about women who criticize sexism.

What can I say, blinded by privilege.

I'll show this to my female friend so she can woop your ass for degrading woman's struggles and comparing it to gay men's sexual preference.

    Speaking of annoying threads...
Someone here is ressurecting old flame wars, waiting for someone else to comment on it, and then deleting his post so it looks like the other person brought it up.
I knew who it was when it happened to me but I thought it was an isolated incident and forgot who did it. (I deleted my reply and the thread went back into oblivion.)

No offense Xavier, but you have been spewing bitterness all over the threads for a few weeks now.

One of the beautiful things about this site was the fact that there was something for everyone. Trying to conform it to something that would make you happy might not make everyone happy.

Instead of complaining about the types of threads you don't like, why don't you try to post some threads about the things you are interested in and see if they pick up. Be a part of the solution instead of the problem.

You aren't making things better. Also, you are too new here to know what the site was like in the past. There were times when the threads moved so fast that you couldn't keep up.

I know I have been guilty of complaining about the site lately, and I take ownership of that. But we should be a part of the solution instead of the problem. I haven't seen anything remotely positive from your posts.

I personally like the guy above you posts. Here's why. They are an easy ice breaker with people you might not otherwise have an exchange with. Also, I particularly like the compliment the guy above you threads - not because I care about receiving compliments, but I like giving them. I like building others' confidence. This site helped me develop some confidence and I want to pass that on to others. I get that you don't like it, and that's your business, but considering that many others do post and like it, what would give you the right to remove it? Why can't you just move past it and ignore it? That's what I do with the race threads and the political threads I don't care about. I simply do not click on them, read them, or post to them. It's that easy.
