Why do the most hated topics always attract attention of everyone but nobody cares about topics that really are interesting?

    I mean like, everyone hates race, religion and MOTD threads, right? or the birthday ones. Then why do people keep replying on them? Why not comment on threads about topics that have never been talked about before?

    So you're saying that the most hated threads are actually interesting? Then, if they are, why do people complain about them so much?

    Also, newer members who don't know these subjects have been beaten to death (or that the op probably started the threat to encourage a flame war) jump in and make controversial remarks that get people going all over again.
