Hey guys, how's it going? icon_smile.gif

I don't know if the title is going to be pertinent to the content of this post, but hey.

    It's cool looking.

    NOTE: CONTEXT FOLLOWS

Here in Australia, there is a thing called the Racial Discrimination Act that is designed to make sure discrimination is not allowed, as you'd expect. However, there is a particular area of the law called 18C.

Effectively, it makes it possible for someone to take someone to court for; "offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate" ANYONE on a racial basis.

Here is the legislative document on that particular law; http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/rda1975202/s18c.html

Now, of course, you'd think that makes sense on the face of it, wouldn't you? However, what isn't very clear in the legislation is the powers of the judge. The broadness of the definition of "reasonably likely" basically means that the judge can make it up.

There is a judge in Australia that is rather prominent called Mordecai Bromberg. He was a unionist lawyer and a Labor hopeful who lost pre-selection, therefore, a Leftist. Now he was involved in a case with a columnist, Andrew Bolt, who you've seen me post to in the past, consequently, Bromberg doesn't like Bolt, who is a Conservative.

    NOTE: CONTEXT ENDS HERE

Whether the judgement was the right one or not is debatable, but the main point I am making here (sorry for the context), is the current situation.

Currently, our Attorney-General George Brandis is going to abolish that section (18B, C, D and E) and introduce a new one, spoken of here; (First link)http://www.ag.gov.au/Consultations/Pages/ConsultationsonamendmentstotheRacialDiscriminationAct1975.aspx

Now, the Left are in meltdown mode. They are calling the Coalition and Brandis more specifically, racists and defending bigoted behaviour as well as other stuff.

Now, of course, we all know how in the modern day in the Western World, only White people can be racist. Don't believe me?

    Here's what I begin this for;

    http://catallaxyfiles.com/2014/03/28/enjoy-the-18c-irony/

The original article written is linked in the blog post, but the blog post describes everything wrong with it.

This Socialist arsehole, Aly, has always gone on about how bad White people are.

Just go through the articles and feel free to contribute icon_smile.gif I know it will be hard because of the different countries' legal systems, but suffice it to say, that unlike America, Australia has far less scope to actually say what you want without fear for censorship, courts or some other form of libelous action against you.

But I've talked enough, and I bet no one will comment, so go right ahead icon_razz.gif

    You're gonna suck as a politician icon_lol.gif

To read some real BS from PolitiMAC > http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/3728631/?forumpage=2

Im gonna quote a few of his sayings:

"Those who think there are racial hierarchies need to live in the real world. In the Western World, people are racially equal."

"if the Left admitted there was no racial hierarchy in the Western World, they would lose the complaining power a little. "

"You still haven't given me any examples of societal or institutional racism."

    You're doing it wrong.

And to answer those Leftists and Libertarians who believe that people are somehow all equal, and that somehow the creation or absence of laws, or benefits, can make everyone or certain groups better off, is to actually believe that we have somehow conquered human pettiness and weaknesses. The more I think, the more I realize that progress happens in spite of political, legal or economic "solutions" or ideologies. What needs to be feared then, is the loss of human agency in a given society, and absent that, a society is doomed.

Argh, I probably need to elaborate on what I wrote, but I'm not in a mood to write a political treatise at the moment or in the near future on RJ, lol.

Such things are always conceived in a poor ideology that gives "agency" (that is to say a capacity for awareness and independent action to decide what is ultimately "good" for oneself and others), to lower orders of men who never had it in the first place. No amount of laws or private social engineering will correct this. This is what the likes of WEB Dubois, of all people, realized when he spoke of the "Talented Tenth" among African Americans that were to lead them into progress since it was obvious to him that the vast majority of African Americans lacked "agency", and even his brand of socialism/communism convinced him that people ought to be led in general, then leading themselves (which of course could happen privately with a corporation, a church, or for that matter, a slave plantation...).

It's a discussion on the subject matter and reading the opinion article to see how it relates to the hypocrisy of so many non-White people saying White people are racist, yet they write opinion pieces that are racist.

Or are you just trying to discredit me for the sake of it? If you didn't know or want to know about this, then you shouldn't comment.

Just get over it and don't take it personal because it's not, I just don't share your views and I think you're gonna suck as a politician because you don't understand what is going on around you, that is all.

PolitiMAC, the point that you don't seem to understand is that marginalized groups cannot marginalize the majority, which in this case (and in many cases) is white people. Are you seriously feeling oppressed by these opinion pieces? Common' now icon_rolleyes.gif

Problem is, in the Western World, no race is marginalised.

Furthermore, racism is racism. Are you saying that racism is ok because a brown guy is racist?

Where are you getting the impression of oppression from? I'm just pointing out racism when I see it. You don't it seems.

Disagreeing with me does not entail you to say that I bullshit anyone anywhere. It was childish to point out other comments of mine that were related but not relevant to this post in such a way to say that they were BS.

I was a little surprised because you usually haven't been toxic like that to me before.

Finally, you not sharing my views has nothing to do with how I might function as a politician. Not sure if you'd like it if someone said to you you would never do anything with your life except construction. I'm not saying that, but you wouldn't like it, would you?

Your opinion of what I do and do not know is baseless.

It's legislation that's easily generalized in importance outside of Australia though. In my opinion, any group that wishes to protect themselves or raise their collective self-esteem or have social approval from others by passing laws like this, as opposed to engaging in constructive dialogue or making the lives of others outside of one's group, better, or setting a great example by their own group's work, aren't groups of people that I would readily hold with any "high regard" and I suppose this applies to the past and current generation of homosexuals in Western countries, or whores who simply expect society to cater to their sense of entitlement and validation without helping that society or setting any individual example of good conduct to inspire good perceptions about them. While I can have sympathy and pity for such people in general, that's all it's going to be.

There are many issues this topic raises, which I'm no where close to addressing, and probably won't in the near future, but perhaps the heart of the matter is, is whether we can change perceptions about people (especially if one comes from a group that is historically perceived badly), by outlawing racism, prejudice and discrimination, and thereby eradicating, supposedly, the capacity for any person to perceive any other person badly. My answer to that, is that it's impossible to do since perceptions of people don't change that way to begin with...
