    What's a good pre-workout energy drink? Gatorade?

It depends. Gatorade, Powerade, and similar drinks are mostly sugars and oils. Not exactly good for you, especially if you're trying to drop weight. I like to drink a Powerade before I go on a run. Because the sugars give me a quick spark to get me going. And I know I'll burn off the calories by the end of the run.

You might want to consider eating some fruit 30 ~ 60 before your workout, like a banana or an apple. If you prefer liquids, then I'd recommend Vitamin Water. I forgot what the flavor is called, but it's the yellow one. It's citrus flavored, has less calories than Gatorade, it has electrolytes, and vitamins. And it has guarana for a little energy boost.

Or you can suck down weight gainer/protein powder mixed with apple juice and chase it with two cups of coffee and see better results than any over-priced, over-sugared energy drink will provide.

That sounds good if my workout consisted of running from one toilet to the next.

    I can't wait to hit 40! icon_biggrin.gif

I found tossing in some metamucil keeps things from "thundering down". When you're training for the gains, you really don't have any other way to get the calories in so you either deal with it, or improvise LOL
