16 million bucks for giving the finger at Madonna's superbowl half time show.
What a joke. If she loses the court case she'll be like broke forever.

I don't understand how do you sue someone for giving you the finger?

On what grounds are they standing?

    OMG they hurt my feelings.

"Last September, news came out that the NFL was seeking $1.5 million for breach of contract and "flagrant disregard for the values that form the cornerstone of the NFL brand and the Super Bowl." The additional $15 million is reportedly the value, in advertising dollars, of her two minutes of screen time."

If they reported a net loss, maybe they'd have a reason to complain. People need to just GET OVER IT. Sheesh. They also apparently want to garner her wages. That's ridiculous.

Yes but the halftime show was a success and it's their fault for not using the 3 second delay right. She must be in shock. I'd just leave the country for like 5 years or something.

I suppose someone from The Onion wrote up their lawsuit.

it's not necessarily suing because of hurt feelings, rather MIA signed a legal document agreeing to certain behavior. She violated that contract, hence why she's being sued. Simple as that.

They could have sued her for 1 million not 16.

while it sucks for her.... the superbowl is like a billion dollar game bro. Arguably one of the biggest games in the world. So, there's a lot of money being passed around and for MIA to risk that.....she's a dumb bitch.

chinchilla_killa saidit was some shock value/attention whoring publicity stunt that blew right up in her face. her 15 minutes were up eons ago. then again, she's known to do that shit anyway so aye, no sympathy for her. that ether the new york times gave her still stings to this day. icon_lol.gif don't see why folks are trying to paint this as a bad thing when this is the type of shit that she wanted, publicity.

"15 minutes of fame?" HAHAHA. This is fucking Madonna you're talking about. I'm no Madonna fan, but you're retarded if you call that "15 minutes of fame." What have you done with your life?

icon_lol.gif we're talking about M.I.A. NOT MADONNA. the only thing that pertains madonna is that this happened during her halftime show. you just had a preejaculation moment right there, bub.

Whatever. I'm on pain killers. What's your excuse? icon_lol.gif And M.I.A. has had a lot more than 15 minutes too. You still living in yo mommy's basement?

Janet Jackson had her tits out. I don't think a finger goes anywhere near that.

And seriously if they want people to be "decent on tv" they should choose different people. M.I.A isn't someone I'd expect to "adhere" to any kind of "decency standards"

    Lol MIA is rad!

She just reminded herself onto my playlist

    Balllller

Makes me wish I'd watched the superbowl just for that.

Wasn't aware the superbowl considered her so iconic
