here is one paragraph about it and it's value to us men icon_idea.gif

The master of Taoist philosophy, Dr. Stephen Chang wrote: “When the average male ejaculates, he loses about one tablespoon of semen. According to scientific research, the nutritional value of this amount of semen is equal to that of two pieces of New York steak, ten eggs, six oranges, and two lemons combined. That includes proteins, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, everything… Ejaculation is often called ‘coming’. The precise word for it should be ‘going,’ because everything – the erection, vital energy, millions of live sperm, hormones, nutrients, even a little of the man’s personality goes away. It is a great sacrifice for the man, spirituality, mentally, and physically.”

here is a longer article about it.......

First of all, men don't have "seed". Plant seed is analogous to animal eggs. What a man has is sperm, analogous to plant pollen, to fertilize the female eggs.

Seed is a Biblical convention, that has no biological basis in humans. Men don't have seeds.

Second, there is no loss of protein or energy to a man when he ejaculates. The sperm is already produced, and its nutritional value cannot be fully reclaimed by the man's body if he doesn't ejaculate it.

He either loses it in a wet dream, effectively the same result as sexual ejaculation, or it breaks down and gets flushed out of the body through normal removal mechanisms like the kidneys. There's no medical evidence that expired sperm get "recycled" into the body, to recover all those New York steaks those sperm supposedly represent.

Once the sperm and the supporting fluids are produced the biological investment is already made. You ain't getting a refund if you save it up, that you can convert into muscles or something else.

All you lose is the pleasure, and relief, of expelling it. Plus the danger of causing long-term damage to the producing structures, that Nature designed to regularly expel, not to stockpile.

And if that wasn't enough, you deny yourself the beneficial hormones that are produced at male orgasm. They are beneficial to maintaining youthfulness, strength, prolonging virility, urinary tract health, and longer life.

And that would make logical sense. Because Nature would want to reward males and extend the lives of those who are sexually active and reproducing, and not provide those benefits to the celibate.

And it doesn't matter if a male is not breeding with females or not, the benefits Nature built into his body still apply every time he has an orgasm. So that this whole idea of voluntary male celibacy is a puzzle to me, if not approaching suicidal.

I know many guys who say the less they ejaculate the harder their muscles remain for longer periods of time - it would follow that the more energy u put into ejaculating ( some guys multiple times per day ) the less your body would have for muscle building and general strength - that is just common sense - but i take your point that sperm is more like pollen than like seed icon_wink.gif

Its also why coaches tell athletes or prize fighters to not have sex the night before a big event.
