Does love really exist; or it is just a fake ilusion?

Is a fake illusion reality? Is this a double negative thing? Am I being tricked!?!?!? icon_eek.gif

    Ahem.

I think we have a gay Aristotle on our hands here... icon_wink.gif

no dear, its a concept dreamt up by hallmark to sell cards..

I mean lets just neglect the fact that we have a powerful bond with our family members, that we care for friends....

So no, love isn't real... its totally fake, you'll never find it, you'll die old, alone and miserable...

Love exists, but finding it is not easy or simple or quick. It's tough, but it's out there somewhere.

I think love exists, we simply can't see it. Love is not only when you love your partner, love can exist in all sorts of big and small things in our life, or even certain moments, certain emotions. I think love can be defined as something which is only there when you want it to be there and when you are ready for it.

    yehp.

st exupery says it best, "One cannot see well except with the heart, the essential is invisible to the eyes." ("On ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." does the translation bother anyone else?)

Love exists - but I believe it is not a thing that you must find - like a lost boot you trip over, or some kind of emotional Easter egg hunt. Nay, I believe love is an action - something you choose to share with others - the loving kindness and compassion well described by Buddhism.

And there you have it, my young Padewan.

LOVE absolutely exists. Love happens when we hang up all of our judgments, when we humble ourselves and understand that we are all different and unique with something to offer this world. Love happens when we accept people for who they are completely and where they are in life at this exact moment in time. Love happens when we find the courage to throw away all of the bull shit that we let hold us back from truly being happy and achieveing what we really want and what we know we deserve. Love happens when we truly love ourselves.

Not to get mushy on you guys but its true. I have seen it and i've experienced it and its an incredibly powerful thing when its unconditional and honest and completely passionate on every level.

    Seconded.

Though I think you mean Socrates. He was the one who was constantly accused of having his head in the clouds...

What does this topic even mean??

    Is love real?

Are jealousy or hatred real or are they also "fake" illusions?

Say the sages, "Love is possible and real. But we must believe to experience."

i´d say it does exist but feel it´s a "fleeting thing". it transforms itself into something more like "knowing someone very well" and accepting differences and flaws.

I believe in pain, by whatever name you wish to disguise it under. So yes, i DO believe in Love.

Yes, wretch, weep. In the end, you will always be alone. No love for you.

Oh, how I love Wobbly-headed bob.

Much like Santa Claus, it exists if you believe in it!!! And as Natalie Wood said as a child in Miracle on 34th Street ---> "I believe, I believe, I know it's silly but I believe!" icon_smile.gif

love exists as much as hate does.
You can see both of them too.
