Ye Gods! Can't you people grow up?!
SouthBeach, the requirement is to have insurance, not to have Obamacare. The very simple idea is that if all are insured, it will be cheaper for everyone. You do not have to enroll in a particular program, simply one that meets general criteria, whether available on a sponsored marketplace or not.
Going along with this idea is the fact that medical costs are so high that we all need to be insured. I am tired of hearing from people that they are sick and can't afford a doctor. Then they proceed to work while sick, spread disease, suffer from the long term effects of illness and sometimes tax the healthcare system by requiring care at the general expense.
If you naysayers are so displeased with government involvement in your lives, please refrain from the use of municipal plumbing, public roadways, city street lighting and trash collection, and other such suspensions of your "liberties," as you may term them.
By the way, for those who keep railing that the use of an automobile is a "choice," try living in a suburb without public transit service and not having the use of a car. It is possible, but there are not a lot of people in that circumstance who would call it a "choice."
Calling out buzzwords to incite mindless bad feelings is so childlike. Please stop.
