    Has it aged well?

Quite a few of my friends seem to dismiss The Matrix these days, but I can't understand why. It's fairly original, has some amazing effects and a good cast. What's not to love?

I agree. It had some pretty revolutionary special effects and stunt works at the time. The casting was pretty good. But more importantly, the story held it all together. The concept of the matrix, reality versus virtual, the illusion of choice, allegory.. The Wachowski brothers made it all work.

I think your friends are probably taking the movie at face value.. a sci-fi action movie. But if they look look beyond that, then they might appreciate it a little more. Or not. icon_lol.gif

Also, Reloaded and Revolutions were awful. I kinda wish they didn't even bother with those two. icon_mad.gif

    This^

And I personally can appreciate older movies, but I seriously don't consider The Matrix to be old. I find it to be a movie ahead of it's time.

Here's an old movie with a similar theme, where realities exist electronically. I kinda hate the recent surge of movie remakes, but I would love to see this movie remade with the right director and cast.
