I came out long before Facebook and have no idea so I have to ask:

    1) Is it braver to come out on Facebook or one-on-one (in person or on the phone)?

    2) Is it smarter because it's a way of not making a big deal out of one's sexuality with the implied statement that it's not even worth a personal call?

    3) Would you rather be told in person instead of being mass-notified and if not, why not?

I think it's definitely a brave way to come out because you're telling EVERYONE in your life.

But, I'm sure that close relatives and close friends would rather be told personally first instead of through FB like everyone else.

Coming out on facebook reaches more people but I prefer in person.

It's easier from the viewpoint that you only have to say it once and don't have to have individual conversations. Of course, with closer family and friends, you'd have to do it in person, because sometimes a more personal approach is best.
