Are You a Diet Supremacist, Sneering at Food?

NYT: Do you feel contempt when you see lesser beings stuffing their mouths with French fries and T-bone steak and pain au chocolate? Do you sneer with disgust at people who are scarfing huge portions of calorie-rich food? Do you revulse, at the movies, watching a guy the size of a Sub-Zero buy a bucket of chicken wings? Do you feel superior, walking past a food court, seeing a portly woman in screaming yellow stretch pants at Dunkin’ Donuts?

If you answer yes, you are a diet supremacist.

You have to give it time.

Not all of the comments happen immediately.

OK, yes. It's been a pretty effective way to keep most of that garbage out of my pie hole. "I don't want to look like that..." is pretty strong motivation.

Now if I concluded that these trough feeders were bad (or lesser) people, that'd be different. But nothing wrong with understanding what sets us apart, using it to modify behavior.

Fat shaming is the implication that these diet Nazis are headed toward, right? Sure, that's bad. But I see parallels:

    Drug User Supremacist
    Road Rage Supremacist
    Baby Kicking Supremacist
    High School Dropout Supremacist

Oh lord, how terrified I am of being accused of being (ulp!) judgmental!
