How was your college experience as a gay man, could be you were or weren't out.

I studied externally while working full-time. So didn't really get the college on campus experience. Would have been nice to be able to do the full-time college thing.

At least the college that I went, there weren't any gay support groups or clubs. Most gays were annoying and stereotypical.

Maybe they were the only ones you could pick out of the crowd, because the non-sterotypical ones passed for straight?

I don't know why it took me so long to figure it out but college was where I discovered what a homosexual was and I thought, "Ohhh, so that's why I care so much more about my male friends than my girlfriend!"

I played squash, d&d, bridge and did math. Sexuality wasnt really involved. Not a lot of gayness back then in public. I actually got a lot more in highschool.

Well right now I want to rip my hair out with all the work I have to do. But other than that it's so much fun! I'm not specifically out so no relationships. However, to be honest it is so hard to maintain a relationship with all the work that needs to be done.

Wonderful experience. Great profs, loved learning. Frat boy here and though gay wasn't acceptable then, I managed to get my fix. A lot of hard work but totally great to have the opportunity to pick subjects that interested me and then have a brilliant mind explain it all. I really miss that.

Agreed here. Lots of work, but it's a blast. I'm also pretty out so I've had my fair share of relationships. I might intentionally fail so I don't have to graduate in a month.

I had a great time. I worked my ass off to maintain a 4.0, but still found time to play water polo; have fun with fraternity life; get in my fill of fun with friends; and last but not least - go a little overboard with nocturnal exploits. Things weren't so open then, but we still had a ball. We got very good at eye contact - to meet other like-minded gay men on campus. No Grinder, no Internet. We met each other while out actually doing things / sports, athletics, dancing, drinking parties, bar-b-ques. We had no trouble at all finding hook ups and boyfriends, even without all the social applications available now.

In retrospect, I wish I had been out. I was important.

I didn't know any gay guys when I was there, but I know of a few other friends who have since come out. They were also important - more important than me,

But I am still in school, I guess. In contrast, I assume everyone knows I am gay.

I was bi and on the down-low.

Dated a bunch of girls, and was the "first time experiment" partner for a number of guy buddies.

I'd call myself a "man-whore", but whores make money... icon_lol.gif

the gay auxiliary at my university had like, 8 people in it. And 6 were women. We tried to remove Chik Fil A from the UC, we got 20 signatures.

College was awesome! Not only did I just enjoy college life in general, but I "came out" during my first year. While I was at a pretty conservative university and had to be pretty down-low, it didn't stop me from having fun and exploring my new-found self-acceptance.

Off-campus I started dating and hooking up with guys I met through personals and at bars. On campus, I frequently got cruised by guys when I was showering in the sports center after my workouts. I even hooked up once with a member of the men's gymnastics team.

I have great college memories. icon_smile.gif

It was fun when I was young and involved in a college group. Of course my grades were not so hot since I had to run out to the clubs all the time. Later, I was older and I simply studied and didn't care about anything else. My grades of course were high. After community college I switched to online where most of the people are older and a college experience wasn't something they cared about.

I came out at 16 when I went to college. Met my first serious boyfriend on the first day I was there. We were together for 7 months until he got murdered. I was so depressed that I vowed to go straight, dated women until I was 19, and then realized it wasn't happening and went back to boiz. Mostly I spent 95% of my college time at the student newspaper.

Rather useless, but it was something I wanted to complete anyway no matter how long it actually took me.

It was alright. But after I took an internship at Disney in Orlando, everything changed.
