Why do guys who know they could do better than you relationship wise not even consider you in their league for friendship?

You mean playing hard to get? It's typical. They are called the Arrogantus Validatus. They usually hunt "nice guys" alone. Sometimes in packs. They are basically psychological vampires that need the attention of the weak to feed their egos and to feel better about themselves.

Don't worry ... someday you will be out of their league ... and you in fact may be already

I prefer the National League. I've never been comfortable with that whole stupid Designated Hitter thing.

Unfortunately some people have "Standards" when it comes to friends. They want to be friends with good-looking guys in "their league".

lol Which is something that doesn't even make sense. I mean, why does someone want "hot" friends in the first place? lol The gay community is shallow that they even expect their friends to be hot. icon_lol.gif

The friends who come to my place are always hot. I mean, who wants to pay for more air conditioning?

They want to be the hottest group at the bar or the club. They want to have the cutest pics, I don't know. . . I don't agree with it either. Especially when I look at my straight friends. They could care less about who's in their circle.

Not all gays are like this though.

It's a facet of narcissism; wanting to be around people that others would consider having 'quality' attributes.

I think we should all stop using "league", and use "meters" to describe how some people are out of our zone.

But I ask, what the fuck does being "hot" even mean? Isn't attractiveness subjective? To be hot you have to have smooth skin, strong arms, be tall, ripped abs...Who said so? I wonder where the hell did these beauty standards came from.

    marketing departments. sex sells.
most of those traits indicate the specimen is probably healthy, strong, and can spear the beast, thus feeding the children of the female trying to enslave him. She trades her hole for his food, and hopes it is good enough to make him give her more food, until the kids can trade their holes or spear chucking abilities for the other.

That was from before being smart helped make money (food substitute), so now you have to have one or the other, at least. If you hang around ugly people you make less money and fewer perks (unless they are smart as a substitute, but smart people tend not to hang around other people). Sad but true.

Oh, please. You know exactly where they came from. .

    Hot vs. Ugly
    Fat vs. Ripped/Muscular

Who would you rather watch in Porn?
Who would you rather see in the movies?
Who would you rather date? Chase after you?

Don't act like these are new standards of beauty or attractiveness, they've been around forever.

Not that I condemn this. I just don't see the point in pretending like they don't exist.
