    Be nice.

He's the one on the left if you're not familiar with the world renown fashion designer and film director.

by ALYSSA VINGANBig congratulations are in order for Tom Ford and his partner of 27 years, Richard Buckley.

During a conversation at the Regent Street Apple store in London on Monday evening, Ford, without fanfare, flashed the audience his wedding ring after saying of his partner, “We are now married, which is nice.” He continued, “I know that was just made legal in the UK which is great, but we were married in the States.”

The newlywed couple lives in London where Ford’s eponymous fashion brand is based, but they own multiple properties, including a sprawling ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where Ford grew up.

    "Be nice."

    Sure, I'll be nice.
And if it gets me a hottie like that, I'll be bad.

How you think Tom Ford started his career? his boyfriend's connections and now the sweeten the deal with a marriage when his old partner dies Tom Ford will inherit.

Tom Ford is rich. He doesn't need to rely on inheritance for wealth. He probably has more money than his husband.

Also, I can't imagine someone in his current position staying in a relationship for 27 years if love wasn't keeping them together.

Oh.. good lord. Like Tom really needs the extra cash or as if he needs Richard's social security check one.
Tom is set financially for the rest of his life.

If you really want to know what type of LOVE they have, read it straight from the 2 horse's mouths.

Be sure and read both page one and two, as each of them tell their side of the story of how they met.

I relate to so much of their story. I also had the "love at first sight" with my man and fell in love at 25 with someone who was my senior. All the way down to first words were in an elevator. Freaky.

Yes, I fear his throat cancer is back.

    owl_bundy saidtom ford is gay???

    wee-bey-gif.gif

i'm more shocked @ that than who he married.

He directed the movie "Single Man"
Which is about a single "gay" man.

It's really good. You all should watch it if you haven't already.

Being with my man for almost as long, marriage is not talked about between us two; albeit I have voiced my views on the issue, and I don't feel something is missing in our lives; we are contented and for filled without some piece of paper.

But all the best to them.

If I'm honest, the picture isn't the greatest promotion of their union BUT, my bad, we base too much on the visual (guilty as charged at times). The story of them both meeting, now that is the real deal and isn't that what most of us are looking for? If it works for them, more power to them and they have gone the distance...congrats to them!

Wow. I was familiar with him and their story. Congrats to them on the marriage and 27 years. Buckley was the catch 27 years ago but Ford is self made and both are talented artists.

As to the nasty, ugly comments by some of you here, it just shows what small, stupid, lonely, ignorant people you are. I trust you will die alone and I rather hope so because otherwise, you will make some poor soul miserable.

It does speak to love ... til' death do us part ... when you choose a partner in life you don't always think that sometimes life will throw you a curve ball and though both your paths in life run side-by-side in parallel for a while, they are still separate ones and one may end sooner than the other. I think it is great that they decided to make their love for each other legally official. And yes, as stated earlier, Tom would likely inherit his wealth, but isn't that the way it is with couples in life.

They have been together a long time, it is what is right, just like with married straight couples. Without a marriage certificate, that right does not exist, especially for gay people. Even the right to visit your dying partner in the hospital does not exist for gay people unless you have explicit permission of the dying partners family.

Straight people take these rights for granted. These are rights that gay people have been denied for a very long time. There are cases where older gay couples were forcefully separated by their families when they were too old to care for themselves. Can you imagine the hurt and the pain of being forcefully separated from the person you love and have been with most of your life and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Such cruelty.

I applaud their marriage and wish them joy.

Major respect to Tom Ford. I always assumed he'd have some hot young thing as a partner. Had no idea he'd be a LTR type of guy.

At that stage in a relationship (20+ years) it's waaaay beyond the physical so I can understand why he's so devoted to him.

    Very sweet. icon_biggrin.gif
