Wow, saw a guy at the gym wearing one of these on the treadmill the other day. I could hear the Darth Vader-like breathing behind me, when I turned around and looked... talk about soiling my undies! Has anyone else seen someone using these? Or was it just the freak at my gym? lol

I believe it trains you to breathe on less air. I guess it would be for hardcore people who are planning to climb a big rock.

Looks very scary coz all you see is the person's eyes! Very sinister looking... icon_eek.gif

I'm probably explaining this wrong.. I think the decrease in oxygen/respiration causes your blood cells to become more dense. From what I understand, this is a common technique used by endurance athletes, like cyclists. This is where the term "blood doping" comes from. Athletes will train for a period of time using the mask or by sleeping in hyperbaric chambers. Then they withdraw a bag of blood and put it in cold storage. And prior to competition, they will get a tranfusion from the blood they stored. Ta-da! Performance boost.
