For those of you who typically aren't country fans, I would highly suggest you listen to this girl's album. The songwriting is phenomenal. Her major label debut album Same Trailer Different Park won the Grammy for Best Country Album this year, and features the song below, titled "Follow Your Arrow". The lyrics in the chorus say "Make lots of noise/kiss lots of boys/or kiss lots of girls if that's something you're into." This was a risky song to release to country radio, but she did it anyway and the song peaked at #11 on the Hot Country Songs chart, though it didn't have much success on country radio stations.

Anyway, just thought I'd share this new artist with you guys because I absolutely love her music and everything she stands for! If you like what you hear, show your support by buying her album on iTunes because she definitely deserves it.

Yeah, unfortunately she didn't get much attention for it though since her performance was right after the huge Imagine Dragons/Kendrick Lamar performance lol.

This song won Song of the Year at the CMA Awards this past November. A big step for country music! Also, Kacey Musgraves co-wrote this song with Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally who are lesbian and gay country songwriters, respectively. Brandy also sings and put out her first album in 2014.
