Ok guys. Last week I had a VERY bad experience at my gym (Gold's). I attempted to resolve the matter with management however thier pissy attitudes only pushed em away. I ended up cancelling my contract with the help of my lawyer.

Now I'm looking for a new gym. While I want to get back out there and enjoy my training again I am also at the same time ticked off and not wanting to deal with sales pitches and crap. Any suggestions on how to deal with this angry towards gyms in general.

My farther as a gift a few years back offered to pay the fees at the gym where he worked out and his company pays the fees for him.

It had really nice facilities...but the Sales pitch when I went down to sign up left such a bad taste in my mouth I told him not to bother.

I find that a lot of the time a sales pitch actually makes me less likely to buy the product...

you force them to cut the bullshit..
Directly and immediately ask for there best price and what it would exclude, if they attempt to jump into a sales pitch, cut them off and ask again...

If they attempt a third sales pitch, you stop them by saying no, then telling them you didn't want a sales pitch, then turn around and leave.

24 Hour Fitness pre-paid plan is the best. You basically pay for 3 years up front. And then pay an annual maintenance fee.

Back around 2001, I paid around $700 for 3 years with a $20 maintenance fee thereafter. And it's totally legit, I've been paying $20 a year for the past few years, no strings or hidden fees, or rate increases. And I have access to any 24 Hour Fitness in the US, except for the Super Sport and Super Pimp facilities.

The pre-paid prices don't change much. I've been asking around it's still pretty much in the $700 range. The only thing that changes is the maintenance fee. I heard it's pretty close to $40 now.

Also, I heard Costco sells pre-paid membership for 24 Hour Fitness too. You basically pay for 2 years. After that, you can just go back to Costco and buy another 2-years. No long term commitments. However, I'm not sure which facilities you can go to.
