I've stated this to a few people as a reason why I felt some individuals are single, and a few jaws have dropped at the saying. Whether it was a brutal truth or thrown shade, it actually applied to some others knew of. What do you think of this quote? Does it apply to people you know? Does it apply to you?

    What does it mean?
You want someone that's better looking than you are?

I know lots of guys who pretend to have very high standards, dismissing all the guys I point out at clubs. But when they finally get down and dirty with a guy, it's some average dude.

More like you want someone who goes by standards you don't even meet, or someone who's too good for you, but you're in the right area.

I knew a guy like that. Wouldn't enter into an LTR with anyone he thought didn't meet his (impossibly) high standards, but would have sex with almost anything. I even dated him for a while, because I liked him in other ways, we took trips together, and we did have good times in bed.

But he told me I wasn't rich enough for his millionaire lifestyle, and I didn't have his social refinement. This from a guy who wore cowboy boots with his tuxedo, along with a cheap plastic sports watch under his dress shirt cuff. So that I had finally had to buy him a proper thin evening dress watch myself, though I never could get him out of those boots (at least until we got back home icon_wink.gif ).

I've mentioned him here before, and he's still single to my knowledge, the bloom long gone from that rose. He'll likely end his days alone, his high standards intact. icon_sad.gif
