Your posts made me smile. I grew up watching the Partridge Family even though the plots were thin. I enjoyed the music and the positive connections between characters. And then there was Shirley Jones. All the teen magazines were filled with stories about David Cassidy, the teen heart throb of the early 70's.

Damn, he was HOT way back WHEN! Guess we have to accept it: we're all aging!

He did great concerts in the '90's, too.

Loved the Partridge Family music and the show, as was said earlier: great, positive family connections..... so different than our own! icon_rolleyes.gif

Wow, does this date those of us who know what the hell this is or what? David Cassidy was probably my first crush, even though I couldn't admit it even to myself at the time. I also have to say that, at least in some respects, the 70s were awesome: a single mom raising five kids and no Dan Quayle around to bitch about the evils of single momhood? In the 70s, America had, for a brief few years, its innocence and its cynicism in the right places: innocent about love and the viable varieties of it; cynical about power and all those who made their careers in the pursuit of it.

    Talk about dating oneself.....
21 years ago while stationed in Belgium, David Cassidy and his half-brother Shaun Cassidy starred with Petula Clark in Blood Brothers in a limited run in London. It was a must-see, special application for liberty, etc., and it was awesome. David Cassidy was HOT; Shaun and David and Petula sang their asses off. And on the subject of dating ourselves, we both remember when Downtown topped the pop charts and listened to it over and over on the radio as kids! THAT'S how OLD we are! icon_lol.gif

We also had The Partridge Family blaring on the house stereo, inside and out, yesterday in David's honor! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
