I know, I'm being tempted myself. If only for the 1950s nostalgia of it. Reminding me of my dear grandmother using one, her sometimes preparing another egg for me to join her. Often cracked open and spooned into the large end of the double cup, to make it easier for me. And using little demitasse-like spoons to eat it. I think the last time I used an egg cup was at Sunday breakfast at the some Army Officers' Open Mess, another anachronistic bastion of traditional values & customs.
There's a little bit of skill & practice involved, though. So don't expect perfect results the first time, nor will I, after all these years.
As for a cup source, I'll just go to our local gay thrift store (that helps fund their HIV/AIDS food bank). They get tons of kitchen items from a good number of gay homes; if anybody locally would have something so froo-froo as an egg cup it would be them. And barring that, I see that eBay has thousands of them.
