Okay, so they've learned a lesson about image and what loses votes. Doesn't mean they've changed their minds. DON'T VOTE REPUBLICAN.

This makes me very happy. I'm out and I am a strong Republican. Yes, I want to get married, but I'm not really sure what that has to do with responsible government spending and healthcare reform. I think the GOP needs to drop the gay marriage thing, and suddenly it might find lots of young people (gay and straight) who "come out" as conservatives.

Eh, I'm trusting in common human decency. Also the post is about the GOP doing a good thing, so...

Republican strategists are smart enough to realize they have got to STFU on gay marriage and a woman's control of her own body.

But real life Republicans can't stick to the script. They will sabotage that new tolerant image.

Remember, though, this is Nevada. The Southwest is more socially tolerant than the South or the Rust Belt.

Yep. Some loose-cannon Republican will sabotage that image in 3... 2... 1...

Fine. Great. But elect a "good" Republican from Nevada, and it adds to the votes for the party as a whole, empowering the crazies and the folks who pander to the crazies. DO NOT VOTE REPUBLICAN.

If it were up to a majority of Republicans you would be in jail, kicked out of your home and fired from your job. You must be kidding to support this party.

Just look back 10 years to when Republicans controlled Congress and the White House - how many gays were exterminated by the "evil" Republicans?

10 years ago the Republicans had engineered anti-gay State Constitutional amendments in over a dozen States, as part of Karl Rove's strategy to demonize gays in order to energize the electoral base and get George Bush reelected. That plan worked. Or did you forget that?

Gays weren't exterminated, but we were made into second-class citizens in State after State, our civil rights officially stripped away. And it has continued, with even more States passing anti-gay laws and Constitutional amendments since then, every one due to Republicans. Please explain that.
