Hi guys, I've recently been training at LA Fitness, Ballard, but due to a variety of reasons (irritating personal trainers, bad staff, bad hygiene, etc), I'm looking for a new gym. Has anyone got any good recommendations? Thanks in advance guys!

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidI once worked out at the Gold's on Broadway and it is much nicer and very clean but also pricie than 24 HF.
My ex used Gold's on Broadway. Most people I talk to say it's a really nice gym and surprisingly not THAT cruisy.

That's kinda what I don't like about Gold's. Each location is an individually owned franchise. So each location will have varying levels of customer service/experience, as well as fees and membership rules.

Thanks guys for all your kind and thoughtful feedback. Many great ideas - appreciate it! After looking over Yelp, seems that billing issues, bad staff/receptionists/management are recurring themes.

Think I'll go check out the gyms listed and if I have any interesting findings - will report back ;)

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidDidn't Gold's have some type CEO or someone at the corporate office donate to anti-gay organizations? From what I recall that's why the owners of what used to be known as Gold's Gym in San Francisco got rid of the name and is now called Fitness SF.

Woah. I totally forgot about that.

    Irritating personal trainers?

If you are looking to train with really good personal trainers, try Elite Fitness Training on Eastlake.

Regular appointment with a trainer are required. It's not a drop in anytime and train on your own sort of place.

Well, now you know LA Fitness is bullshit, that's a start. icon_smile.gif
