Is modeling a career choice for those who aren't...intellectually 'gifted'?

I know the stereotype of models are 'all looks, no brains'. I have had some people say that if I wanted to, I could pursue modeling (as if...I am going to school full time right now and barely have time for anything). It just got me thinking...do you perceive models as vapid individuals? Are they deemed 'not smart enough' to have a 'real job'? This just got me thinking...

That's just the voice of jealousy.
I've known many models, since I lived in New York for a long time. Some were stupid, some were actually very smart, and some were average. All of them were gorgeous and only two of them would sleep with me. Oh, did I say that out loud?

Yeah every person is unique, an occupation shouldn't define their intelligence or other traits.

tj brings up a good point though...shouldn't those people pursue other career paths if modeling isn't enough?

I don't think they're vapid or unintelligent. I mean, they have to know how to take care of themselves (skin care, healthy eating, etc) so they can keep their jobs. Instead of questioning their intelligence, I would question their attitude and how superficial they are.

Do you really believe ALL models lack intelligence? In school a lot of the smart kids were also very attractive. I guess it's human nature to generalize.

they do, many are in college and do $200 a day gigs, it works for a few years, but maybe 5% will ever see $100k doing it

Well, yeah, there are some really hot guys that aren't the smartest, but to assume that all models are "intellectually gifted" isn't fair.

Like someone said, "they don't because they have the looks". That doesn't mean they don't have the brains though.

I didn't say that all models lacked intelligence...I just posed these questions because I know what the stereotype is and I wanted to see your opinions!

I believe some guys that are very attractive seem to lack social skills, but I find the guys that are above average but not "model hot" tend to be the most superficial/full of themselves.

    Why bother with $200/day?

These guys should be "going for the gold" and ESCORTING for at least $350/hour cash money! Now, I'm not saying that escorts should avoid paying taxes or anything like that. I'm just saying "cash money".

I don't think there's any correlation between being intellectually gifted or not and modeling. Plenty of people have done modeling to support themselves through university and even continue to do it on the side when they have a career.

The most superficial people I've ever met are the ones who think they have a lot of money and they don't. You can tell who they are because when they are with a crowd, they always talk about the assets they have or the exotic places they've visited. One thing I've learned when I worked in finance is that truly rich people do not talk to others about their money.

Very few male models make it past their 20's let alone their 30's.

A good male escort knows how the market changes over his lifetime and takes full advantage of the "daddy" factor. A lucrative life-time profession can be enjoyed well into a man's 70's and even 80's if he stays fit and trim.

Okay this may sound naive, but do escorts actually have to sleep with the guy? I imagine it's assumed, but do escorts have limits like kissing etc.?

It all depends on how you market yourself and how well you can get into their head. You can keep it to "BDSM role play" type scenes where they are forbidden to touch you and they may only relieve themselves upon your command. These escorts can make some of the best cash money! It's usually all about the fetish, the look, and the costuming. And, if you play your cards right you can even get your clients to buy you the costumes over and above your hourly rate.
